If this is for over all high school folkstyle type team I think you are off.

It's terrible.

How would you change it?
Posted By: TCarmona

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/03/05 05:38 PM

first of all Edison is wrestling 215 this year. I know he wrestled for FS and GR but he is going 215. Second Cotton won state as a freshmen but doesn't mean it was a great match. I watched it and it was....I am not trying to put him down and do not take away from wrestlers. I just think that you based your off of watching kids this summer or kids you are familar with. Jessen should do well and there are many kids that you could put on there
Posted By: Chief Renegade

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/03/05 05:50 PM

Tcar,

Edison would also be a strong 215 on the list. I'll move him up. At 152, David Loos was 34-4 last year and I don't know if he's moving up. A good case could be made for Nathan Thibault, but I'll take Romero. He worked hard this summer and you can't go too wrong with a defending state champ.

Compshoes, None of these guys in the line-up are terrible.

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/03/05 06:48 PM

Why do you have Erisman at 171 and further more where is Strawn? Erisman 160 and Strawn 189 easily.
Posted By: Chief Renegade

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/03/05 07:25 PM

I think Erisman plans on wrestling 171 next year. If Strawn is an easy 189, then I agree with him over Hardy.

Can Strawn beat Disney?

I was told Carmona is going 145

Be a fun matchup on paper, but I think Strawn would beat Atticus.

Nothing against Atticus he's good, but I don't think he would go the distance with Jesse. I watched Malay of Wakeeney (Trego_Wrestler) beat Atticus with the same move over and over. I don't know how much better he's gotten in the last year or two but I think strawn is more of a powerhouse type wrestler than Atticus is/was because isn't he kinda a chubbier kid? Nothing agianst him as he's a stud in his own right but I don't think he's in Strawn's League. I was also told that Strawn will be at 215 this year? It's in one of my old posts I believe Bob Phillips said this...

... a noticeably "missing part" to me, is Aaron Ely!

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/04/05 02:12 AM

Interesting lineup ..... I agree that Ely deserves mention ...... and if we're talking about Loos, why not Bailes ..... Aliensteve stuck him in their only meeting last year at Chanute

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/04/05 02:19 AM

Bronco Wrestler - I would have to agree that in a match between Atticus and Strawn that Jessie would certainly be the favorite. However, I don't think I would go as far as calling Attiucs chubby (check out the Cadet photos on the home page). And I may have just forgot the match but remind me when Atticus ever wrestled Malay? But I do agree that Strawn is the guy to beat in 4A and I also heard he may go 215.

Barry-

I meant nothing negative by the comment. The match(es) I was referring too took place in Clay Center I believe 2 years ago. Malay had no one to wrestle and Atticus volunteered to bump up so he did have someone to wrestle and he wrestled double time, which I commend him for. I haven't seen Atticus since then, and then he seemed chubby, but now I do not know. I did not mean anything against a kid like Atticus as he's good and has proven it over and over again. I wish him luck and I hope wins a State title before he's done in High School.

Frank Jonas two state championships and second place finish speak for themselves.

As you well know, Frank will be returning this season attempting to win his third State Championship.

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/04/05 10:28 AM

Atticus is in a transition from boy to manimal.I would guess his days of wrestling anyone in highschool stronger than himself are over.I would bet he wins several state titles before he's done.Good wrestler and even better young man, chubby no.

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/04/05 12:42 PM

Alex - I know you didn't mean anything negative and I didn't take it that way. I just couldn't remember the match. I do remember it now and agree w/ your description of it. That is why I probably had it blocked from my memory. It was at Clay Centers Freestyle tournament. I didn't know that was Malay he wrestled. I think there are a couple good heavyweights out west if Atticus goes heavyweight (Scott City and Goodland) and Strawn is waiting at 215 if we stay there so I'm not sure what he is going to do. Lift weights for sure.

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/04/05 12:46 PM

I think that two years ago are void. I have seen kids go from 6th place one year to state champ. Much can happen in 1 year let along two.

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/04/05 01:30 PM

Jhris sophomore year and Jhris junior year are completely different people. From what I have seen of Disney, he's making the same change. He doesn't seem to be chubby but he was a little shrimpy. Once he hits the weights, he'll be fine.
Posted By: Trego Wrestler

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/04/05 01:33 PM

it was last summer at Clay Center. He won Greco and i won Freestyle. He was good then he should prolly be better now.

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/04/05 01:36 PM

Here is one for you Curtis. I remember a healthy Frank Jonas being defeated quite handily by a Ryan Johnson from Manhattan in 2004. I also think that Strawn will be the man to beat at 215 this year, definitely not Edison.
Posted By: Chief Renegade

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/04/05 02:10 PM

OK, so let's get this team right...

With Loos moving down in weight, that opens up 160. Will Frank Jonas still be 160? If so, he's in.

What do you guys think about 275 between these guys;

Caleb Payne - 33-1, State champ
Tyler Jessen - 34-3, State champ
Elijah Madison - 28-2, 2nd to Payne (3-2)

Also, Aaron Ely is very tough, but I can't see him beating Shumate or Perez. I think he can beat Altman.

Now at 215. What are your votes between Edison, Strawn and Disney.

Matt Bailes graduated, right? Otherwise, he would be in the line-up.

With Strawn moving up to 215. 189 is now open, any ideas?

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/04/05 02:22 PM

Bailes is a senior this year

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/04/05 02:28 PM

Any opinion between Bailes and Jonas?
Posted By: billy_mcjackson_ripjc

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/04/05 03:08 PM

215 is Strawn by fall with anyone. At 160, I would say Jonas because most likely, he will be a 4 time finalist with at least 2 titles, which is pretty good. At heavy you have to go with Payne because he'll be a 3-timer and a 4 time finalist.

Jhris if you were wrestling how do you think you would fare against these beasts?
Posted By: LancerM

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/04/05 03:40 PM

He would be undefeated because he would never make weight.
Posted By: billy_mcjackson_ripjc

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/04/05 03:59 PM

Must I remind MancerL that I made weight every single time I wrestled, and I actually won a tournament or two. I also won big tournaments very easily while I'm not sure if MancerL won one at all? If he did it must have been his crappy league full of crappy teams. We can also look at the state tournament, where MancerL lost to Carr, and I beat him. So Marky, what's up now?

As for these guys, I can only go by how I wrestled guys they wrestled. I know that I've beaten guys who have beaten most of them, but I'm also two years older than they are, so who knows.

How hard will it be for Hansen to make 112. To me he looks as if he is big enough to be a 125 pounder.

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/04/05 06:43 PM

Hey man, I pinned Carr at Basehoor-Linwood and then beat him at state after choking. Ha ha ha...

And it's true, while I was in every final my senior year, aside from my flameout at regionals and state, I only won a little over half of them.

Long story short: I'm bad at wrestling.

hansen should make 112 pretty easy...he is only weighing about 115, and he has been working out everyday with me...plus he isn't eating right....i am guessing 112 will be a pretty good guess for him....since this is summer and he isn't trying to lose weight...

I think I can take Steve Andrus in bowling, and maybe MancerL as well. I was about 13 when I bowled my high game of 258, which was also about the time that I quit. But I'm still the grand champion so back off.

Chief only one problem with ur list. u dont have one 3-2-1a wrestler on it.
Posted By: billy_mcjackson_ripjc

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/05/05 08:52 PM

That's because everyone knows 4a and 6a are superior to every other classification, by far. 5a is only on there because they're the second largest classification, so they must have at least one good wrestler out of those large numbers.

I vote for Clay Madden at 112, he is a 3x champ winning 103 in 1993, then 112 in 1994 and 1995.

Clay has a record of 88-9 currently heading into the upcomming season.

I believe you meant 2003, 2004, and 2005, as opposed to the 90's.

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/06/05 02:49 AM

I would have to agree that it would be 2003,2004, & 2005 as in 2003 I lost to him 5-1 at the Jake Durham Invite then again at regionals in the semi-finals 13-2 or something horrible. But I would have to differ and go with Brett Bahe of Goodland as he has defeated Madden the last meeting for sure and possibly the one before that. Still a nice name to throw around in the mix.

Posted By: billy_mcjackson_ripjc

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/06/05 05:33 PM

I don't think that Jesse Hardy should be on the list. Good wrestler, but not in the same league as Strawn.
Posted By: Curtis Chenoweth

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/06/05 05:46 PM

Hardy's got one wicked head throw though.
Posted By: billy_mcjackson_ripjc

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/06/05 11:52 PM

I wrestled a young Hardy when I was a senior and tech falled him about half way through the third period, something like 18-2. For someone to be on the list known as a thrower, you should be a little better than that. He's good, don't get me wrong, just not good enough to be considered the best in the state.
Posted By: Curtis Chenoweth

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/06/05 11:55 PM

I agree completely. I was just saying that he has an awesome head throw.

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/07/05 01:22 AM

Ok, so the list at the top is even more off than before. Strawn should be 215, he's a returing state champ and Edison is not. I don't know how well Born did at 189, but I highly doubt he's the best in the state. Is Erisman that heavy now? Didn't he compete at 160 for nationals? Won't that probably be where he is next year?

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/07/05 04:43 PM

Another name to throw in the mix would be Esterl of Beloit if he doesn't throw it all away like he did his freshman year. Not necessarily the best in the state last year but he's good and gave Baker all he wanted and was in the match till Baker made him pay for a stupid move and pinned him.

Posted By: billy_mcjackson_ripjc

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/07/05 05:55 PM

If that guy should be on the list for giving Baker a match, then you have to add Andrew Wagner of Manhattan. He beat Geske of Abilene last year at Beliot to wrestle Baker in the finals, where he barely lost something like 2-1. Baker was quite the staller during the match as well, so if almost beating Baker is list-worthy, then we should add Wagner as well.
Posted By: Bronco Wrestler

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/07/05 08:23 PM

What place did Wagner get at State? I will admit that Baker is quite the staller on occasion, but he does have 3 State placings to his name and Esterl has one on his only trip and a runner-up at that. It's hard to compare people vs. people for all the variables to come into play, but I would still take Esterl over Wagner.

And Baker over both of them...
Posted By: billy_mcjackson_ripjc

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/07/05 08:31 PM

Wagner is 1/1 on trips to state and medals. He was varsity both freshman and sophomore year near the middle of the season when he went down with head injuries. Then, after he competed for an entire season, he placed 3rd at state I believe. I've never heard of the guy from Beliot that you speak of, so I'll take Wagner.

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/07/05 08:51 PM

The story on Esterl is... his freshman year he was ranked all year I believe then right before Regionals he got caught with something against team rules/school ruls and was removed from the team thus not allowed to compete at Regionals. He came back this year and competed all year won his regional I am pretty sure and made it to state finishing 2nd to Baker of Hoxie by fall at the 4:55 mark.

He is a numerous times kids placer/champion I believe. He is built a lot like Baldridge I think, short and muscular. He is VERY good on his feet and can make even really good kids looks like they're not so good. Just my assessment of him after seeing him wrestle a buddy of mine who holds the school takedown record wrestle him and get taken down like 20 times by him in 3 matches. He only had like 27 against him all year, and like 5 by Baker & Loyd of St. Francis. The other 2 were at the State tournament I believe.

Agree with Sir Randy's comment. People keep leaving Donnie Altman out. Dangerous mistake. Don't forget he is a returning state champion and is a totally different Folk-Style Wrestler. He didn't cut much at all this year because he wanted to grow and put on strength for his senior year. I am certain he will be at 112, will be a big 112, while I expect Perez and Schumate to be at 119. Donnie will be motivated to work his butt off after the Fargo experience this year.

After seeing the tape I know there is NO way he can make 103 I think even 112 would be a stretch...

I vote for Clay Madden at 112, he is a 3x champ winning 103 in 1993, then 112 in 1994 and 1995.

Clay has a record of 88-9 currently heading into the upcomming season.
I don't think Madden can beat Hansen.

All tough wrestlers. Although Hardy can't beat Strawn. Kellerman can't beat Jonas. Altman can't beat Hansen. Ely can't beat Perez or Shumate, even though Aaron looked great this summer and it might be close. If Hase wrestles 103, then I could see him in the lineup.

Kellerman was undefeated last year.
Wat about Baker from Hoxie?
Madden should be on the list.

Going by records in HS and performance, you would have to take Kelly Younkin as he was an undefeated Freshman in 321A. Gienger of St. Francis is good but didn't win state. That could by why Kelly was chosen over Jordan.

Did Levi Younkin graduate? I wasn't talking about Kelly. Shows you how much I know about 321A. Kelly wouldn't be on the team.

I have already made my point for him not being included on the list. So I will say it again for those too ignorant to do some reading. Clay Madden was defeated by Brett Bahe 2 times last year. So before I would put Madden on there I would put Bahe on first. He's very good, as are all 3x's but to be beat not once in a fluke but 2 by the same kid in the same year, I would have to go with Bahe.

I believe Madden's 3 losses were:

2- Brett Bahe Goodland
1- a Kid from Kearny Neb. in a dual with Hays/Kearny/Norton

Chief Renegade.

I appreciate you nominating my son for your all-star team.

However, Steven is closer to 225 than 215 right now.

He is a little taller and he spent the summer working in a Grain Mill. He does not have much fat on him.

I am hoping that the football season brings him back down a hair.

Our goal is to be at 215 but we will wait and see...

Thanks Again.

But then again you got Strawn and he will be (prolly) undefeated this year again. Guy is an animal. Can't wait to dual them this year!

You are exactly right. Payne won 3-2 in the finals. Payne was 33-1 and Madison finished 28-2.
I think it's the "wow' factor that puts Madison on the list. Next year shoould be fun with those two. I'm going to put Payne back on the list with Madison also.

I only missed the Hays/Kearney dual. But since you know so much about Clay, especially since you lost twice to him in 2003 that should classifie you as a expert on the subject.
As for this topic.....Don't put Clay on any list,he will prove himself...he doesn't need any Pre-All Star status .......

I do not claim to be any expert. That was merely a joke to how bad I was and how good he IS. As I said... I BELIEVE... meaning I wasn't exactly sure... don't try to make things out of what's not there. Clay is a 3 time State Champion and very talented, I know first hand. But he did lose to Bahe so before you put him on there you would have include Bahe as was my point.

Norton 47, Kearney 24
103: Logan Keiswetter, N, won by tech fall over Collin Rees, 17-0.
112: Shane Castillo, K, won by decision over Clay Madden, 3-1.
119: Daniel Rodriguez, K, pinned Nathan Broeckelman, 3.23.
125: Kent Mann, N, won by decision over Warner Phipps, 4-2.
130: Jon Harding, N, pinned Justin Dekok, .36.
135: Jeremy Harding, N, pinned Jon Crocker, .38.
140: Luke Pfannensteil, N, won by decision over Reese Florang, 9-8.
145: Marvin Peterson, K, won by decision over Blake Vanaton, 3-1.
152: Lance Roe, N, pinned Jon Pearson, 2.31.
160: K won by forfeit.
171: David Stanley, N, pinned Eli Clifford, .44.
189: Kyle Brill, K, pinned Paul Janemann, 4.52.
215: Blake Hillbrand, N, pinned Nathen Welch, 1.12.
275: Michael Sprigg, N, pinned Sam Icenogle, 2.52.

I thought the score was different from 3-1. I was wrong as I have been many times before. Those would be his losses then.

Castillo Kearney- 3-1
Bahe Goodland- 4-0
Metzler Newton- 12-8

Those were his 3 losses this year and to who. Before I would put Madden on there I would put Bahe or Metzler since they have beat him.

No disrespect to anyone on the list but billy_mcjackson-ripjs makes a great point here. A state championship should exit out all other defeats, even if it is like a 1-3 record against another individual if the one win was a state championship. That is why I am still giving Altman the respect over some of the other kids. I know those kids at that weight they are great kids, great wrestlers, but Altman is a defending state champion.

Mosely and Madden over Hansen and Perez? That would put you down at least 0-6 in a dual match. Pfannenstiel can't beat Cotton or Schroeder. Has Baker ever wrestled Isenberg?

What will Hansen be going? At kids state he was at 110 and looked like a huge 110 at that. I would have thought that he has grown some since then. I would imagine 112, likely even 119. Both of those classes are going to be very tough this next year. It will be fun to watch.

Payne beat Madison 3-2 in the state finals. A junior vs. a freshman. Not exactly "untouchable".

Madison beat Sean Hoffman(SH,senior who was 32-2) in the semi-finals at state 14-7. Hoffman ended up pinning the other semi-finalist in :55 to take 3rd. He pinned the same guy who lasted 4:19 against Payne. I'm making the early call that Elijah will make 275 and will be the 2006 class 5A state champion.

heres mine
103- Keller/Rogers/Hase - I dont pick furches because hes not even wrestled a HS match yet
112- Donny Altman/Aoarn Ely- I think they both beat paulie.
119- Larry Perez - Hands down
125- Tristen Deshazer- DUHHHHH
130-Aldon Isenberg- cant think of anyone else around thats better
135- Scott Elliot/ Aaoorn Ellison- could be a good match up
140- ?? Maybe Andy Hurla or Kyle Grape
145 Garcia- dont see anyone who can beat him
152- Schroder- Its a toss up between him and cotton i think judd is just a bit better
160 Erisman- Nough said
171- Bailes/Kellerman/Mamie- All very good wrestlers.
189 Hardy- Team Headlock him self
215-Strawn/Eddison- Toss up i think strawn wins though
275- Payne - very tough to beat.

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/17/05 05:07 PM

I agree that 103 is up for grabs. Keller, Gage, Hase and Furches all have a shot as well as others. It is kinda fun throwing an incoming freshman on the list. I think he has a reasonable chance at the title. At 112, I think Altman would be the best choice to challenge Paulie, but still think Hansen beats him. I would list Hansen, Altman, Ely, and Mosely as the top 4. A brutal weight class. Now at 119, Perez and Shumate are above everyone. I wouldn't say that Larry would be a "hands down" choice. He barely beat Nick at state and those matches could go either way. I think Erisman will be at 171, which opens up 160 and shuts everybody else out at 171. Jonas is at least a 2X champ. I agree that Strawn and Edison are close and we've already talked about 275.

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/17/05 06:16 PM

bking,

I agree with your Furches comment which is why I have him in there at 103. Altman beat an undefeated Ely 12-2 at state which was impressive but I believe Hansen will make 112 and is too much to handle for Donny. I forgot about Baker at 130, so I added him along with Alden. 140 seems up in the air. I could see Hurla, Gienger or many others step up there.

John Paul Shepherd who is in town visiting this week used to cut from about 315 or so...it don't take much to lose it when you are goo. Big John is now 6'6 360 though!

Most who know me know I don't get into debates like this. One reason is that everything has to be proven on the mat and the time for that is coming up. I would include other kids there as possible at 103, including possibly Aaron Haug (sp?). I do think that the cut for Elijah if he is up that high will be tough, nothing like a good year of football to help though. I will detract and say it would be fun to see Nathan in the finals, and if I had to say who I would like to see him go against, it would be friend and neighbor, literally 2 doors away, Dante Rodgers. Talk about a human interest story, imagine that, 2 kids who live 2 doors apart wrestling against each other in a state finals.

Dante goes to North West, just moved in the area and will finish out his senior year at North West where he has gone all through high school. Nathan goes to Derby where his mom teaches and he has gone to school there since we moved here from Oklahoma except for his first year here. She got the job there before he went into the 7th grade. We had him transfer when she got the job for a variety of reasons. He will finish high school at Derby, at least we hope he does.

Yes!
Is he out for a fall sport? I was curious with some of the schools being thrown around it sounded as if he would have ended up in either a 5a or 6a school. Not sure how he would have done there though with whatever 5/6a has.

seems like Madden and Bahe are not getting much respect on this string-- 3 times state champ in the case of Mr. Madden should be worth mention if you are going to list people who have not won nearly that many, and, again in the case of mr. Madden, 88-9 record overall. Granted, he has not won all his matches, but there arent too many undefeated wrestlers on that list. Same can be said for Baker of Hoxie. several of the folks that seem to be shoe-ins on the list haven't won a title yet. I would think that to pick someone with less titles or no titles over one with a proven record reflects some bias. (of course, I don't have any.)

I agree and moved Elliott up to 140. I also moved Tyler Baker (Hoxie) up to 135. He was the 125 321A champ and deserves to be somewhere in the line-up.

first off, i dont think pat mosley is the BEST 103 lber in high school, im thinking altman is better. Deshazer will be going 130 or so ive heard. scott elliot ? didnt he go undefeated and win state? as a freshman...?. loos ? even if he goes 45, you count him out? pfannenstiel?- didnt place a newton. madison? did he even win state.
just a thought
doing all-kansas team is impossible
in wrestling there is so many factors to look at and it is more than 3 months from the season. until we see what weight people are going, its kinda pointless to talk about who is the best!

Mosley won't be anywhere near 103 this year guaranteed.

Deshazer made 125 for Nationals, makes you wonder why he wouldn't do it for High School?

Elliot is good, no contest there. I think though if he's at 135, Baker or Esterl could challenge him. He is a good candidate though and should make a lot of lists. 140/145 might be a little tougher to make the list.

Loos was at 152 last year so I'm not sure if 145 is really an option right now? I may be wrong but we'll see. Still a good choice but I think that Garcia of Colby is better.

Pfannenstiel of Norton is tough, already have a couple state medals, just because he didn't place at Newton doesn't mean anything? If that's what you were implying.

Madison, is a stud. Losing 3-2 to Payne in the finals, and he'd already beaten Jessen earlier in the year. Finishing 27-2 as a freshman in Heavyweight is an achievement and being the State Runner-up? I think that speaks for itself as to why he's considered a "Front-Runner" as well.

Altman will be at 112, or 119. I would also say don't forget about Garrett Miller who was out last year. Depending on where he is at he could be a tough 103-119.

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 08/29/05 11:41 AM

Guy Miller is the man at Hvy... he took Sprigg to the coin toss twice last year, and dominated 4a last year, also has been a placer when he has been healthy, believe he was third as a frosh, losing to Bedore of Goodland, then had a knee reconstructed the year that Scott City won as a team... hard to beleive that he would sit out his Sr. year but I reckon stranger things have happened. If he comes back, I would think that you would have to respect his record and placement history and place him at the top of 275, Madison may be better but has never had the opportunity to prove it in a match, and as has been stated before did prove that he was not close to the ability of mr. Sprigg.

thirdone-

It was dissappointing to watch the way Madison finished in the last 30 seconds of the match. If you don't lock up with him you have a great chance of beating him plain and simple.

Brenvoth-

I agree on your assesment. I look foreward to Elijah being back this year.

Madison is a defensive wrestler who waits for others to make mistakes he can capitalize on. If you wrestle smart and have an offense he is beatable which Payne proved last year and will again if they meet. The score of their match does not tell the whole story, you would have had to see it. Payne was by far the superior wrestler!

Live by the throw die by the throw.

Elijah hooked up a lateral and started to throw but Donte tripped him.

Once they hit the mat, well lets just say that Donte is a pretty big fella.

Donte capitalized on a fatal mistake.

I would not let one match define Elijahs wrestling ability.

I do not think that Donte could repeat the performance against Elijah.

There will be a lot of really good wrestlers this year at both 215 and 275.
Posted By: Aaron Sweazy

Re: 2006 All Star team? - 09/13/05 01:21 PM

Elijah has that throw, but he really needs to open up more and get some basic fakes under his belt and a good high single or something to help make the throw more random and catch guys off guard that way.

Bishop Carroll lineup, here is a good lineup:
109: John Keller 2nd State 5A soph
112: Jordan Keller soph
119: Detmer frosh
125: Issac Johnston sr
130: Jordan Johnston
135: Tom McDonald sr
140: David Loos sr
145: Mitch Arnold soph
152: Tyler Rossnhammer soph
160: ?
171: Ben Meyer sr
189: Roman Cabales jr
215: Brenden Cody Sr.
275: ?
This is purely a guess as to where Coach will have them.I think the team will be better. Three 2nd place finishers,3rd place finishers and several 4 th place finishers. Looking forward to wrestling season.

Elijah reminds me of Jason Duffy from the same school. If you would get caught you were done, but if you wrestled your match, he was fairly easy to beat as long as you were decent yourself.

Ditto on Strawn, the dude is smooth.
Edison is a bad mo jamma too and Edison and Strawn are close, but Strawn has earned the edge. The college people, including O-State, that I have talked to are asking about Strawn. The biggest problem is that he does not compete in the off-season so they have not had an opportunity to see him.
Erisman is also a hot topic right now especially since he has been so succesful in the off-season. Erisman is bigger than Jonas, but I would love to see that one go down. That would be a war.

Erisman would beat Jonas, probably by 2 or 3 points.

Strawn is not on the list at 215 because apparently he is going 189.

I usually don't brag or talk about my own wrestlers, but I am a little suprised Kenneth Livengood has not been mentioned anywhere. He is very deseving. Three time state place winner. Runner-up 2005. Has near 120 career wins. Has beaten both Shumate and Perez(they have also beaten him before)He is a great kid, and works harder than anyone I have ever seen. Just thought someone should give him is props, even if it is his coach.

I know he had a great camp up at JROBINSON this past summer. The coaches up there really were impressed with his toughness

Until Edison beats Strawn for the first time, I say Strawn wins 10 out of 10 times. I also don't think it matters what weight he goes because he will dominate 215 or 189. I also think that Erisman would probably beat Jonas by at least 5 and I would even venture to say around 8. I saw Jonas wrestle a match against our 160 when Jonas was a sophomore and to say the least it wasn't impressive. Erisman probably would have pinned RJ because he's a little wimpy man.

This is purely a guess as to where Coach will have them.I think the team will be better. Three 2nd place finishers,3rd place finishers and several 4 th place finishers. Looking forward to wrestling season.
I don't think Detmer will make 119, but wherever he goes, others will have to make room. He will be at least a 4 time placer and has a chance to win it 4X.
