Is Elliot at 52 or 60 now?

Scott is at 152. We have had some injuries in the lineup and moved him up. We also bumped him up at Kapaun to wrestle Jonas. It made for an exciting match.

Thanks coach, you're doing a great job!

189 at the Chapman Regional is going to be interesting as is 140! 189 gets the 1-4 guy!

Re: 4A Rankings 1/23/06 - 01/25/06 03:09 AM

By applying the NFHS Team Point Scoring System for tournaments awarding 6 places (as defined on Pg 46 of your rulebook if you're scoring at home, Richard)......

Chapman Regional = 226 points (3 #1 ranked wrestlers...25 total wrestlers ranked)

Russell = 223 points (6 #1 ranked wrestlers....23 total wrestlers ranked)

Altamont = 200 points (4 #1 ranked wrestlers....26 total wrestlers ranked)

Eudora = 79 points (1 #1 ranked wrestler....10 total wrestlers ranked)

Of course, this would assume you put any faith in the rankings. Most people don't, but it keeps us all entertained in the weeks leading up to The Big Dance.

Ron,

Great stuff, can you break it down even more on what regional has toughest weight by doing the 14 and then stating how many ranked or higher ranked guys there are?

Re: 4A Rankings 1/23/06 - 01/25/06 04:09 AM

Break it down....Hammer Time. Or maybe Aaron is too young to remember MC Hammer. Anyway, here it is:

Alta Vista 103# has 4 ranked (1,3,5,6)
Alta Vista 125# has 3 ranked (4,5,6)
Russell 135# has 3 ranked (2,3,5)
Chapman 140# has 4 ranked (2,3,4,5)
Russell 145# has 3 ranked (1,2,6)
Alta Vista 152# has 3 ranked (1,5,6)
Russell 160# has 3 ranked (3,4,6)
Chapman 189# has 4 ranked (1,2,3,4)
Chapman 215# has 3 ranked (3,4,6)

I think all the other weight classes only had 1-2 ranked guys per weight at each regional.

no faith?...ahh man...

if I move Eudora to #1 would that help balance it out a little bit?

Re: 4A Rankings 1/23/06 - 01/25/06 12:17 PM

Mr DeWitt: Your rankings are probably as good as any. I just know there are a lot of unranked kids that hope to prove you wrong. My theory on the Eudora regional is that you are underseeding your kids so they can surprise everybody at state. It's a conspiracy!!

Re: 4A Rankings 1/23/06 - 01/25/06 12:50 PM

160# is shaping up to be a good one at Russell. I think it's going to be a tough fight. Anyone of these could take the regional title. Cook 9-2, Mettlen ?, Juby 26-7, Heckel 12-3, Lang 22-3, Krutzer ?. I think it's going to be a dog fight for the top 4 spots. goodluck to all that day. I think it's going to be a great tournament. Just hope I can get back from annual Training In Iowa in time to see it all go down.

Did Tait Weatherbee beat Wes Barrett somewhere? I just noticed that Tait moved ahead of Wes Barrett. If so what was the score?

Re: 4A Rankings 1/23/06 - 01/25/06 02:45 PM

Tait is a former finalist and three time medalist and most coaches agree that he is deserving of number one now that he is healthy and back wrestling again. This is no slight to Barrett, who now because of my almighty powers, can't finish any higher than second at state.

I bet that match would be a good one. Who do you think would win Coach Dewitt? Could be a finals match.

Sorry, I will have to invoke my civil rights and plead the fifth on that one.

I'm going to be 26 in April. I used to wear Hammer Pants when I lived in Germany during the late 80's early 90's. CAN'T TOUCH THIS!

Re: 4A Rankings 1/23/06 - 02/23/06 04:51 PM

I know this is hard to believe, but I took my daughter to see MC Hammer in Greenville South Carolina. I actually had the hammer pants, wore them and believe it or not, still have them. Swayz can ask my daughter about it to verify it. One of the most fun concerts I have ever been to. Now back to topic.
