Any list without Hoover and Kline of KMC has no merit.

Garfield Wilson? Did he even finish the season? I can't remember? There are certainly a number of wrestler who were bad dudes. Not that the ones listed arent good...heck, I am even listed, but I am sure there are better. This is a league with tradition.

Milton George, Jeff Urban, Jerod Byrne, Terrell Brown, Jeff Schreiber, Hoover, Klein, Pat Takano, Danny Fox, Ryan Price, Marcus Manes, Brandon Calvin, Paul Myers, Mark Holley, Eric Payne, Doug Smith, Anthony Brixius, Scott Salyer, Ben Hannah, Eric Hannah, Adam Brandes, Brian Aldrich, Brian Scott, Derek Jackson, Tim Samilton......

I am proud of the GWAL. I am proud of it's tradition. But I am not sure about the list above. Guess that's why we all have our own opinions.

Re: gwal all-star team - 12/20/05 02:51 AM

i think the list is pretty good with an exception of a few... i think blake seiler should be on that list. along with hoover.
i seriously dont for a second that garfield wilson and zach wetta are deserving to be on this all-star list... no offence to them but i think there are much better wrestlers...
is there a reason why sequoya hill and ryan sponsel werent mentioned? also jared vogel and danny fox were bad bad men. they should be on it too. was jarret edison good in 04? or is this list saying they are really good now and they wrestled that weight in that year...

Well, I agree with your post completely but I guess the man did say... who would be on "your" list as GWAL All-Stars. So he has a right to put together his own All-Star team. I just know I could probably put one together that would shut that one out! Including myself on that list! hahahaha!

And Danny Fox was a bad bad man! Too bad we never got to see that talent at the next level!

Lightheartedly,

Very good Big Head.... Rogers was a state runner up his senior year but wound up winning the grand state tournament the next week. He then went on to wrestle at Labette.

Richard, Big Head, etc. There is a picture on the wall at South High of Kenny Rogers. He is holding a Grand State Bracket and his name is on it! I don't know where the results are, but Kenny Rogers was a Grand State Champion at some point. Are you sure it was not in the 80's?

no, carroll's only won state 2 of the last 4 years and theyve dominated the city league for 65-some duals.... i think they could get one on...

Ok Farva2313 don't let nothing hold you back get that list on here. Its all for fun. We can dual online!!

Re: gwal all-star team - 12/27/05 02:49 AM

Carrol has had some pretty good wrestlers...off the top of my head...

J.D. Johnson 4x placer
Jarred Vogel 4x placer, state champion
Blake Seiler I think 2x state champion
Josh Maze 2x state champion
Pat Gengerosos state champion
Eric Hanna state champion
Kenny Brown state champion

Those are just off the top of my head, and all wrestled in high school since the mid 90's.

Brandon Vogel is Jerrod Vogel's older brother. Brandon was in the SigEp fraternity at WSU with me, so Jerrod Vogel and Kenny Brown use to play poker and drink with use quite frequently....after they dropped out of seminary school. I knew neither one of them would become priests.

Blake Seiler has an older brother named Adam Seiler whom was in the SigEp fraternity with me, too. So Carrol wrestling was quite the topic of discussion. However, Marcus Barber was a Sigep, too, and he represented the great program David Nigg has built and Mike Church Jr. is leading into the next couple of generations.

Littlebighead... you might need to cut back on your drinking.. it think your judgement is becoming impaired! lol

Re: gwal all-star team - 01/05/06 03:06 AM

It is possible that LittleBigHead may not be drinking. :-) LittleBigHead I knew your brother fairly well but I thought you were a yell leader! I don't remember you wrestling.

Re: gwal all-star team - 01/05/06 06:40 PM

yeah, I had a problem making it through seasons. I have infamously been known to quit wrestling half way through seasons. Not proud of it, but it happened.

However, I was decent. I beat a number of state placers and wrestled some close matches against some others. By no means was I a scrub.

Thanks for your concern MikeChurch Sr.
