Hey whats up Kansas kids/coaches. The University of Missouri Wrestling team will be holding two camps this summer for Kansas. The first one is in Wichita at Valley Center, HS from May 29 through June 2 for $155. The camp is from 9 to 4 everyday and if you can't make the first day for Memorial Day it will be $30 off. Also, I would highly suggest Akin's and Kenny Monday's camps. Going to these summer camps will not only improve your wrestling but get you recruited by college coaches. The second camp is for the Kansas City area and will be held June 12-16. For more info go to http://www.tigerstylewrestling.com, or just email me at cmm445@mizzou.edu

it's too bad most of the great camps around here are either in conflict with southern plains camp/tourney June 12-18 or in conflict with kids nationals in Green Bay June 28-July 2.

It's kind of a conflicting message as we encourage our kids to Freestyle and build the Team Kansas name nationally, but then schedule most of the tops camps during that time. To be fair this knocks out almost the whole month of June which I know is top "camp time" but if KS wants national level FS/GR teams as they get older we need to figure out a way we can have our kids that not have to miss southern plains and Green Bay to go to most camps.

Personally I would love my son to go to the Missouri camp, but when? If you are a top FS/GR kid there is only so much you can do in June. I would send him to the Wichita Missoui camp but it's commuter only. I wish there were more July camps.

I guess you just can't have it all.

I totally agree 24/7 it is very difficult to make everyone happy. As I look at our camp in Wellington it conflicts with a Winfield camp as well. There is an example of two good camps 15 miles away on the same days. But one that was one of the few times we could get our gym (basketball camps, reconditioning floors etc.) If you start to push our camp later it conflicts with football camp and other baseball tournaments. There is no right or wrong date, in the summer.

Yes, the Cadet Duals (June 26 & 27) overlaps on two of the Team Champions Wrestling Camp's four days, June 26-29.

Would the camp consider prorating late arrivals, for those participating in the Dual?

Wray Wrestling Club is proud to announce that the University of Kearney and Bob Smith are hosting a free camp June 9th and 10th at Yuma Middle School to first 150 wrestlers. Along with having Marc Brauer, and Bob Smith, 2003 National Champ Adam Keiswetter of Kearney has committed to come down. We will also have atleast one more set of Kearney wrestlers joining as clinicians. Due to construction at the Wray High School we are unable to hold it there. Along with the Free Camp of Champs, we will still having the Showdown Takedown Tournament ($15). Every year the competition has gotten stronger and stronger, and by offering a full two day camp we hope it will only make it stronger. If you have any questions or want a flyer feel free to email me at: jbehrens@wrayschools.org.

Hope to see you there,

Jj Behrens

Ken Chertow is holding a camp in Kearney NE on July 13-17. It is one of the best camps I have seen and is great for the serious wrestler. Not sure on the clinicians but always has multiple national and olympic champions

Team Champions WC is still accepting registrations. We currently have 94 enrolled with room for more and are expecting a great camp. We will have technique from our camp staff in the morning and afternoon sessions, with dual matches in the evening.

Flier link and contact info listed above.
