Lashley was a three time nat'l champ at MoVal. My coach Perisi used to coach him there and said he was one bad man. I'd say all-time physical fitness goes to him hands down!

Lol. Chris Bell, I haven't heard his name in a while. Tough, strong, bad little sucker. And David Ray, the definition of intensity. Ray is in Alaska, but where is Chris Bell these days?

Very good list Bighead, would be great to hear some of the HS exploits of some of these, and of course others. I am still an old timers kind of guy, but realize some of these guys are becoming old timers, Saying that, there is a group of new breed kids that will be interesting to see how they develop, kids like DeShazer, Cornejo, Elliott, and the list goes on.

I have 3 that I've had the priviledge to coach that should probably be in the list.

Marc Hull 2 time champ 4 time finalist for Andover High School. 3 time Collegiate All-American and National Champ
Todd Drake 4 time Champ 126 - 1 record for Andover High School. 3 time All-American and National Champ.
Shawn Silvis, 2 time Champ 4 time placer for Augusta High School. 3 time All-American with 2 National Titles and a runner-up finish.

Kids like that will make you a good Coach if you can keep from messing them up.

You've been Coaching how long?

Wasn't Jerry Corner (Wichita West, Two-Time state champ, undefeated in 94) an All-American somewhere?

Neil Cisper - STA 2 time Champ - Currently wrestling at Penn

May have one of the best all-time state tournaments in 2004

171lbs

Round 1 - Fall 1:00
ROund 2 - Fall 0:44
Round 3 - Fall 1:58
Round 4 Finals - Fall 1:17

Total mat time for tournament 5 minutes and 19 seconds. Not bad.
Scored 32 team points - I think.

Wow. That is impressive! That could make a whole new thread. Kids who pinned their way through the state tourney. Was Cisper undefeated in 2004 and how is he doing at Penn?

that was cisper's junior year and if memory serves me correctly he did have one loss to blake malloy of shawnee hieghts(3rd in 5A that year). the next year he won state at 189 but did not pin his way through. very impressive wrestler, though i'm not sure is quite among ks's best of all time. i his weight class was weak the year he pinned through the tournament like that. i'm not trying to take anything away from him, great wrestler and all, i just dont know that hes quite up with some of the names mentioned on here.

Cisper got to wrestle a match at the National Duals a couple weeks ago. He wrestled up a weight at 197, but I think he's bumped up for good now.

I may have missed it, but I think you have to put Wes Harding on the list somewhere. And if you want to talk about tough on and off of the mat, he's going to rank WAY up there. Ask the basketball and football players at Fort Hays that thought they could whip him.

The Noce Brothers in the early 80s were tough as nails. Gene Noce won 2 state championships and was runnner-up one year. Cliff Noce won 3 state championships during his tenure. Best combination of brothers to have wrestled during the 80s in high school. Gene Noce went on to college and was a 3 time All American and National Runner Up.

What about Chris Bollin? 3X State Champ, 5X Jr. A/A, (1 Greco, & 2X Free Champ) World Champ, 3X A/A @ Oklahoma, World Team member etc. Has he been forgotten?
