I hit this up on another thread earlier but this is one of my favorites. Think it was something about "Improvements to state." Mrs. Grader even jumped on there too which I thought was cool. But back to the subject. Eye of the tiger is always a blast. ANY Rocky soundtrack fires you up. Also the soundtrack to Vison Quest. Gotta have. Guns and Roses "Welcome to the jungle" fires everyone up. Of course "we will rock you" jamming at state finals was one I will never forget. A song from back in my high school days became one of my sons favorite, "I got the power!" We would be on the way to a tournament yelling, "Get off my back. Or I will Attack. And you don't want that!" Of course we changed it to "Stay on your back!" I know last year at state they played "Pump up the volume" which was a song I jammed to and know my son does too. If you get the "Jock Jams" CDs there is a lot of the songs they play at state and other wrestling matches. And of course the song I am pushing for at state is AC/DC's "Thunderstuck!" Also there are a lot of Metallica songs that get you fired up. Ever been to a KU football game and you'll know what I am talking about! I was just thinking about putting this post up the other day because music seemed such a strong motivator for my son this year. So thanks!

Paratroop,

A lot of great choices on your post. One that blared across crackling speakers in our high school wrestling room(8-track tape of course) was AD/DC's "For Those About to Rock, We Salute You". A lot of power behind that song.

welcome to the jungle is the song for The Pitt State Gorillas at every game I think. That definately gets you going. Your right about the jock jams cd. Metallica would be good except for the elderly generation. They probably wouldnt understand that loud stuff. I think about this alot but should we be patriotic or just loud. I think the star spangled banner is patriotic enough and that always brings water to my eyes. I really think maybe we should have a poll on this next year to see what the boys wrestling want to hear and the coaches since they will be the ones doing the work.

I think your making yourself seem older, "for those about to rock" was never on 8 track, you made me feel old for a minute.

Coach Bill,

I stand corrected. I do remember having an 8-track player in the basement (high school wrestling room). We must have upgraded to a cassette player by my Junior year.

From Helpguide.org

Normal forgetfulness:

The following types of memory lapses are normal among older adults and generally are not considered warning signs of dementia:

1) forgetting where you left things you use regularly, such as glasses or keys
2) forgetting names of acquaintances or figures in the news
occasionally forgetting an appointment
3) having trouble remembering what you just read
4) walking into a room and forgetting why you entered
5) forgetting the details of conversations
6) becoming easily distracted
7) not quite being able to retrieve information you have “on the tip of your tongue”
8) blocking one memory with a similar one, such as calling a grandson by your son’s name

I regularly experience memory lapses 1-7 above (#4 happens every time I enter a room). Number 8 is just a matter of time. I feel relieved to know that this doesn't necessarily mean that I am "dimented". Some people that know me well might say otherwise.

I may not get too good of a review on this one, but my favorite may have to be Lose Yourself by Eminem.

Lunatic Fringe by Red Ryder (I think)!
Its the song from Vision Quest!
Taking Care of Business by BTO
The Boys are back in town!
These are all Oldies but Goodies!
On a personal level I enjoy the song Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit! A very adult level song but it jacks you up fast!!

Slam-Onyx
Momma Said Knock You Out-LLCool J
X gonna give it to ya-DMX
AC/DC I like:(They are oldies)
Thunderstruck
Hells Bells
Who Made Who
I Feel Safe In New York City

Also I remember from my high school career hearing "Righ Now" by Van Halen while warming up at state before the tournament started. Now everytime I hear it I get chills. Not really to pump you up though.

I think that they should have "Stand up for the CHAMPIONS" by Right Said Fred. They play it all of our high school varsity football games and i know as a player it pumps me up. After all isn't it the "Parade of CHAMPIONS"

bockman - What's wrong with Right Said Fred?

"Im too sexy for my shirt too sexy for my shirt
So sexy it hurts"

"Im too sexy for my car too sexy for my car
Too sexy by far"

"And Im too sexy for my hat
Too sexy for my hat what do you think about that"

Oh, OK. Never Mind. I think I answered my own question.
