This is our 3rd annual Manhattan FreeStyle-Greco Roman wrestling tournament. It has grown from the start. Last year entrys 29 Juniors/56 Cadets/37 Novice and 26 Midgets total of 178 in FS. Mark (Red) Miller is computer expert and he worked with Gonz Medina and Jeremy Baker of Blue Chip Inc. to make sure the meet was up and running. I try to make sure the tournament is set up with six wrestling mats and we have table workers in both gyms ready to go. Two of my senior Parents (Dave Donnert & Ann Trinen) also help run this meet. To my knowledge no conflict with KSU graduation this year. I was hoping some of our friends from Missouri would be able to particpate. But their state meet is that weekend. One of the items that we are working is the satellite weigh in. This is good for Coach Miller to work on the brackets on Friday night. I know we had some athletes weigh in on Saturday morning last year. On the computer issue. I walked in to the war room at Topeka for the Junior Vikings meet. WOW to meet it was mission control. I know Coach Stanley convinced me Track wrestling and computer entry is our future. But I am old bracket and repair bracket guy. So I leave that area to Red Miller. I hope you all can come and participate. It would be a good tune up for the state meet is the following week in Junction City. RMG

Bob,

How can a club become a "satellite weigh-in" site? I am willing to do it at the Leavenworth County Spartan practice site. I just need to know what you need us to do.

Thanks.

Shawn Budke

Coach G. runs a very good tournament. Well organized, nice gyms, plenty of room and good food (Smokeycabin). If you get the chance, this is the one to go to.

This is to let everyone know that the Manhattan Freestyle/Greco Tournament will be using TrackWrestling.com. After some serious thought of how hard it is to try to bracket all night and most of the mornings we have decided to allow people to preregister though this link. I hope that everyone will help us out and things will run a little smoother with this process. If the majority of people help out with this little task then things ought to start on time!

Manhattan Freestyle/Greco Pre Registration

I would entertain more people to hold satellite weigh-ins. I will make an official list starting later this week. Send me an e-mail if interested. We have Wichita covered and Great Bend. I’m looking for North KC and way out West!

Thanks,

Mark Miller

Anyone setting up a satellite weigh-in in the wichita area, let us know, with gas prices the way they are, a few dollars saved on a motel is a big deal.

When you log into the track wrestling link. It's charging $40 for entry in both styles not $25 and they Schoolboy weights are correct for Greco but still go every 5 pounds for FS.

I will try to fix the money issue… We will not collect more than $25.00 for both styles. I don’t know if this can be worked out or not, seeing how it is actually two separate databases.

I will fix the weight classes when I get a chance… if you would e-mail me I will make sure you get in the right bracket. We will still reserve the right to combine weights for the tournament.

Thanks,
Mark

P.S. The weights should be right now... I you see anything else please let me know... This my first rodeo with this software.

Kswrstlr 215. Are you weighing at satellite site? or here in Manhattan. Mr Mark Miller has arranged the satellite weigh in site and the supervisors have a form to send Mark. As far as money payment. I will check with Mark. RMG

You will pay when you get your draw card here in Manhattan. As soon as all the draw cards are returned you will get your T-shirt. Then we will add all the walk-ups and double check all entries to the tourney and let the games begin around 10:00am

Mark
