He is going 3 mats all day Friday. He suggested 2 mats for the finals unless a team has 2 different weights going.

It's like having two tracks at the Brickyard, it just don't make much sense. But if you get out of there 45 minutes quicker more power to ya.

after a finals cermony that gets you pumped up like burlingtons does you just want to get the matches going as fast as you can... i like the one mat for the lower weight guys but i tell you what as an upper weight guy it feels like a life time to wait for you match wiht only one mat going... after seeing the two mat system used for several years i really like it... there always seems to be action going on and seems to keep the crowd around a little longer to see the big boys wrestle...

I've always sensed more energy in the gym for a one mat system. It also helps when you have good finals matchups, something that may be lacking at this regional. So spending up the matches by having two mats would make sense here. However the 119 final could be pretty impressive with Lamar versus Hoehn possibly.

A first for me. I saw 7 matches in a row in the 215 to 285 range last less than 32 seconds each. They were handing the bout sheets to the announcer so fast she could not read the results. This was in the quaterfinals yesterday. Makes for a quick day with matches that fast.

It was first round not the quarters. 7 matches in row finished under 32 seconds.
