For the regional tournament, weighing in and making weight places the wrestler's name on the tournament bracket. Failure to participate in the official weigh-in or failure to make weight is a bye.

In a tournament situation once a wrestler has made weight and appears on the bracket, if for any reason he fails to appear for a match, it is a forfeit.

Exception: When the forfeit is because of an injury or illness which occurred during the tournament, the tournament director, in consultation with available medical personnel and the coach of the injured contestant shall determine the contestant's ability to continue.

Total lapse of responsibility to the viewers they crave to keep. I know they were at the tournament, but they could check their site before leaving or at least leave someone to take car of business

I feel this should be a REQUIREMENT to be able to host a Regional

I agree with greyeagle. There can be only one reason to not post the brackets. It is apathy and there is no excuse for it. Make it a requirement to post the brackets within a reasonable time after the seeding meeting. All year, there have been many coaches that consistently fail to send results in for their duals.

E-MAIL or call the tournament directors and remind them of this sport's fan base!

The regional directors could post the seeds dicussed at the meeting when they are done. Not many brackets would change - but I would say there is a good chance someone in the state doesn't make weight tomarrow.

There is another short seeding meeting after weigh-ins to discuss the changes. A laptop and a login easily changes the brackets.

I guess the do not post them early - because every bracket is not final until after weigh-ins.

The brackets are filled in and were handed out to every coach. There are always a few changes after weigh-in but they still should be posted. I predict that most of the regions won't have brackets posted until AFTER the tournament. Sad.

I totally agree with Chief, it is SAD, not only for the fans, but really for the parents that for one reason or another, couldn't make the trip, I am pretty sure that those folks would like to keep up with the progress of their wrestlers.

Ulysses has been busting their tails to get their updates up and running. They are very aware of it. The Tech people have been on it, but obviously no luck. I know that they plan to get on it again first thing in the morning.
There is a possibility of putting a link up through www.ulysses.org if all else fails in the morning.

I can't give exact team scores, but Colby has a decent lead, around 140, to Andales and Scott City's 105. Those are ballpark figures.

Nice job at Burlington, Spring Hill, Abilene, Emporia and Caney! You just knew that Burlington would have a premium web site.

Five regionals out of 16 are posted.

We all have to accept the fact that the laws of normal distribution are in play. We have around 200 head coaches and some are on the right (extremely passionate) and some are on the left (just collecting a check). I understand that not every coach loves wrestling as much as I do so I know why we don't have the brackets up for 5A and 6A like we did after the seeding meetings for some 4A and 321A regionals . I understand that most coaches are fired up and will be happy March 1st that the season is over until next November while a small number of others will be chomping at the bit to get to the end of school so they can work on FS and GR all summer. (By the way, all of you other coaches, admins, school board members, and KSHSAA boardfolk PLEASE let these coaches do what they love. They should be allowed to coach their wrestlers year round if their wrestlers want help. It is just STUPID that a rule prevents coaches and kids from striving to excel.) I understand that it takes all kinds and that we can't have all of our coaches on the right side of the curve. What I don't understand is why those who are apathetic get in the way of those who want to do things the RIGHT way. If you are lazy, don't give a crap, or tired then find a coach, admin, or other passionate wrestling supporter to post the brackets and update, real-time on-line.

I have a friend who loves wrestling and cannot attend these events in person. He lives for my text messages or what information he can get from this Forum. I am sure there are 100's more just like him. Grandpa, Grandmas, cousins, dads in Iraq, etc who deserve to have this information made available as soon as it is available. It is just your job so do it or find someone who will. The more we support and publicize our sport the greater following we will create. Stop the apathy or find someone who is passionate to do the job! NO MORE EXCUSES!

Anybody know the start time for the Bishop Miege 5A Regional. Emporia 1st round is 10 AM---but their schools have to drive a ways to get their. At BM everyone is just down the road a piece and everyone might sleep late!!
