Put on a good tourney. Had a split session and super coaches hospitality room. I'm sure they had plenty left over afterwards judging by the spread. We had 10 boys in the 10U HWT Div. From 131 lbs to 195 lbs. That's is an awesome turnout for just about anywhere. Saw other wrestlers from KS there and looked like KS kids were holding our own against OK. Don't be afraid to cross the border for some good competition.

I see alot of Kansas kids cross the border....don't see as many cross the other way. Fear has nothing to do with it, and the competition is great on both sides.

Those kind of comments makes it look like your trying to stir the pot a little.

No fear intended. Although try telling a parent that. That's just what we have to do if we want to wrestle in our own age group is all. I encourage people to wrestle south because they do put on some pretty decent tournaments and cater to the needs of the coaches as well. They are having some of the problems we are with attendace and if they treat us right then we treat them right.

OK wrestlers rarely cross the border #1 Oklahoman's don't require a USAW card and #2 Headgear is not mandatory. You'll see more Missourians cross the border because they do purchase USAW cards and do wear headgear.

Just from what I've seen over the years.

As far as the "caliber" of wrestling --- we have it within our own state! You can't get me to believe that one state is better than the other as far as wrestling talent.

I think Hossus also wrestles in OK (and is such a fan) because they accomadate upper weight classes.
Good Luck this year Hossus!

i guess if everyone was as perfect as you and your child then there would no worries on anything. Let us all know who you are so we can observe this perfection and learn ourselves. BTW your comment was uncalled for...

Ha, more of the same ignorance. Anyway, we are going to wrestle at USJOC with a 16 man bracket. Prob do Tulsa Nationals and if we can swing it some other National tourney. I am excited at the prospect of him being in the running to be a multi National Champion this year. If you knew the child in question you would understand the situation. He's not your average 10 year old. How many 10 year olds on your team practice with HS kids and adults to get in a workout? It's about perspective and comprehension. Some people get it, some don't. Thanks Bowen, BLT and Schroeder for the support.

Wow, I cant beleive they really said a 10 year old should not weigh 130 or more. Even if the kid was short and fat, the fact that he is wrestling is the thing that matters.... No kid bashing EVER. That is just not cool.

What's even worst is nastyway is such a coward that he won't even post his name.
What's wrong?
Are you afraid that someone who knows you will really see that you are a biggot?
Are you ashamed?
Well you should be!

We have a young man that weighs around that weight on our team. He is just tall he is not over weight or anything. We should be proud of the kids that go out for wrestling not sit here and put them down.

Or maybe it just didn't come across the way he intended it to. I don't know if I saw the original post or not but I didn't see anything that hasn't been said on here before. He didn't call out any kid or kids in particular. As plenty of others have said, we simply can't provide a weight class for every kid.

he called out any 10yr old who weighs over 130lbs. i agree that it might not have been worded exactly the way it was intended. and you are right worse has been said on here. that doesn't make it ok. but it is time to move on.

so this nasty way character was out of line. so what. i have done the same thing. and believe me, i felt like a piece of crap for 6 monthes. lesson learned. everybody makes mistakes. now i want to defend our heavyweights. first, hossus shouldn,t have to go to ok or missouri to find kids to wrestle. it is what it is. i have been following this hwt class for 2yrs. i am new to wrestling. my kid started 2 years ago at 8 and under. i was told wrestling could help his weight and make him ready for the following football season. i wrestled him. he started at 140. had a great 1st year. and the 2nd year at football showed much improvement. 2nd year of wrestling was rough. but we paid are dues. we lost more than we won. 3rd year of football started out ok. and then it got rough. as the season started to end, the light started coming on. by november bowl games, something happened. we went to a local bowl game and after it was over, he was recognized as the mvp by the other coaches as a lineman. then 2 wks later at our december banquet, he recieved a gap award which repesents grades, attitude, and performance. i credit his accomplishments to wrestling. the sport has changed our life. and it gave me alot of hope for my bigboned, overweight child. going in to his 3rd year of wrestling, i am proud of my heavyweight and would defend him to the end
