Rossville Notes:

The team race is pretty wide open at this point with 4 team in the running with 100 plus points. I bet Minneapolis is missing the approximately 25 points Omli gets them at tournaments.

What happened to Hackett of Minneapolis at 135, his absence is keeping them from racing to the finish line with a team trophy?

This appears to be the best Rossville team since that run in 2002 and 2003. I could see quite a few of these kids walking away with state medals. The same can be said for Minneapolis which has been a bit down since the days of Shawn Drennan.

Daniel Rhodes of Oskaloosa had a 0-0 record coming into the tournament at 171 and now has ticket to western Kansas with 4 consecutive wins. Including victories over the number 1, 8, and 5 seeds in the bracket. Now he just have to beat the 2nd seed.

Looks like Randy Hinderliter is going to coach in Hays next weekend with David Green of Central Heights making finals at heavyweight. Hinderliter must have pulled some seeding meeting magic to get a 10-8 kid a number 1 seed.

Jayhawk-Linn qualified their 285, Eli Walrod. If I remember correctly this is their 2nd heavy weight and 6th state qualifier all of them coming at the 2 heaviest classifications. They also have two state placers to their credit. Not bad for a 4 year old program.

Wrestling will start today at 11:00 AM. With the incoming weather and slight change of forcast we will move the schedule up and plan on starting the finals at 5:00 instead of 6:30. That way we can get people headed home a little sooner.

I believe he was talking about the classless team last year that won the burlington regional.

ACCHS definately flew in under the radar and good luck to all wrestlers who made it past this weekend and earned their trip to state.

Yes ACCHS yelled it as a team, as they were hositing it in the air. Exact words "Rossville Sucks". I was standing 10 ft from them along with 2 other people and we all said at the same time"DID THEY JUST SAY WHAT I THOUGHT THEY SAID?" Also their two coaches were standing there, as this was being said! What a way to end a great weekend of wrestling. I for one busted my butt for this this weekend and then, they had to cross the line. If I were a wrestler and I heard this there would of been a brawl right there. If it werent for STATE next week there probably would of been. Bad thing is, I know some on the team and deep down they are not that way, they just follow their leader. That starts at the top. Just so they all know, KARMA SUCKS and it will come back and find you. It is also bad we are not in kids wrestling anymore and we have high school wrestlers trashing locker rooms and shoving deodorant bottles(axe) to be correct and what ever else down the toilets. Causing them to back up. Getting into closet and trashing the locker room and stealing little footballs or basketballs. O fiRST throwing them around and now they are gone. Which in turn causing the Athletic director to lock down the locker rooms and I would have kids come up and ask me if I could unlock the door,so they could take a shower. Funny it is the same locker room as the team mentioned above!!!!! Not the first time and not the last time I assure you of their actions.

This sounds like something out of an episode of my favorite canceled NBC comedy series "My Name is Earl". I see no state medals in ACCHS's future.

Hopefully, Athletic Director and Head Wrestling Coach, John Flores, will address these issues that happened this weekend with ACCHS.

I stand corrected. This might have been when putting up tables and chairs in the other gym. Springboard...I defer to you and my12floz on this one. I know you both were a heck of alot closer then I was.

I am an ACCHS wrestler. I think that the tournament was a very well run tournament and I appologize for some of the things that happened. When we recived our plaque there was only 1 of our wrestlers that yelled that statement. I truly apologize for his actions, but please do not judge our whole team for 1 individuals actions. I also thought that it was very immature of him but I do not think that it is the right "mature" thing to post something blaming 1 whole team for 1 kids actions.

Also I did hear of locker rooms being trashed and what not but, after my 3rd and 4th place match I went looking for one of our wrestlers and all of the locker rooms were locked up except for the locker room that our team was assigned to. There were kids still in it when I went in but it was not, at that time trashed.
I appologize for whatever took place in the locker rooms.

As I said above I truly apologize for the actions of some individuals but please do not accuse our team as a whole over things that happened, such as the locker room incident, because one of our wrestlers yelled Rossville sucks. Personally I think that Rossville has a very good team with several impressive individuals going to state with a very good shot at placing. Good luck to u all!

Thank you for coming on here and clarifying that there was a incident. From where I was standing there was more than one. But that is here nor there. What is done is done. I accept your apology and for you to come out and say that you are sorry for the actions of a few is greatly appreciated. I wish that the matter would of been handled better at the time. I know not everyone feels that way as I have relatives on the team. I am aasume you are one that has qualified (going by screen name) and wish you well next weekend.

O your locker room got unlocked, when a wrestler from Minneaplois came to me asking to unlock. So he could take a shower. That is the reason why it was then.

No there were several teams in and out of there. I did not hear the statement, but I am 99% sure I know who the individual was. I can assure you this person will have consequences that will be dealt with. I too am sorry.

No they were not. But my point was your in high school, not 8 years old. Just seems kind of strange the locker room situtaions and then the other. I am not putting the blame on them. Just coincidental! (sorry if spelled wrong)

Vike82. you might stand corrected. But you still stand classless for making an absurd comment like that! If you have a beef, spit it out!
