Haysville was $13.00
Ark City was $10.00
most tournaments are $10.00 or $12.00

Paola also went to $15.00 this year. It appears to be a growing trend.

I can handle the $15.00 entry fee when you don't have a gate fee. Seems like a pretty fare trade to me. In Oklahoma you will pay 12 to 13 for entry fee then 3 or 4 per person gate fee.

It is all about the kids!!!!

Sounds all great, until you have two to three wrestlers participating. It gets more expensive every year to wrestle. Between sign-up fees, deposit on singlets, fundraiser, then going to tournaments. For us to sign-up and deposit was $110.00. That is not including new equipment if needed. We just sacrifice a few things so that our boys can wrestle. And it is something they really enjoy, so we accomidate. But I also know that the cost on everything is going up. And clubs have to do something to make a buck.

The Salina tournament gives out very nice awards and does not charge at the door. Not to mention the level of competition you get.

I am very upset to see that the "norm" for tournaments are now set at 12 to 15.00 per wrestler. We are a very small club and do not have the financial help that some other's do. With more than one son wrestling, it can get very expensive. Last year, my family figured that with travel expenses, food and entry fees, it was costing us around 200.00 a month just for wrestling. Thankfully, my daughter does basketball. There are no entry fees, no food cost since most games are local and don't take all day and hardly any travel cost. The entry fees are not the only thing that has increased. Gas and food cost have risen as well. Again, it may not seem to be that big of a deal between 10 to 15 dollars but multiply that by the number of kids and the number of times and it starts to get really expensive.

Fees should go up a bit.A heck of a lot of the procceds at local tourn are put back into the community that allows us to participate. We help others, they help us.AS far as awards go,better medals or trophys dont mean better tourn. The better the prize the better the competion so most of the ones who want Nicer awards couldnt win one anyway. The reffs are alarge expense also,& they are a huge part of a successfull tournament, then there are facility & production cost ECT.
