We as coaches ask our wrestlers to act the part and look the part. Why shouldn't we do the same for them? We buy them the nicest singlets money can find, we get nice warm-ups so our teams look good in photographs and at tournaments, but why do we still wear jeans, t-shirts, shorts, and our "coaches shirts" on Championship weekend?

For years I have dressed up for both days and receive lots compliments on my doing so. Saturday I wear a nice shirt, slacks, and dress shoes. Sunday a full suit and tie(all day)! I know a few change for the finals, but we should hold ourselves to the same standard and decorum we hold our kids to.

Instead of Best T-Shirt, there should be a vote for best dressed coach or coaching staff!!!! cool

For 2010 State Championships I vote Doug Mitchell from the Wolfpack!!!! Runner up Bishop Carrol!!!! Go Wichita for setting the standard!!

Hey, we dressed up for the dance. But during the tournament, we dressed the part of comfort. You looked good though Doug. Give the name of your Tailor. LOL!

Hey Coach Knox! Where do you think I get my inspiration from!!! I learned a lot from Smith & Wrestling, Taylor Made, and The Hard Knox Way if you remember that slogan from all those years ago.

Hey Coach G! I acknowledge that there are a few that participate, but I would love to see 2011 bring 50% participation. By 2015 we should all look great!!!

Ha, that's a good one! But last I checked no coaches were whoopin on anyone! If they are; they are probably getting dragged out by security!! LOL!

I will admit its a little difficult to show that 1st year kid a move between periods in a suit, but we get the job done! laugh

Doug...
I dont know that I would disagree with this Idea if they put 2 chairs in every corner! Crawling around on your knees in a suit kinda takes away from the whole perception of the professionalism that you are trying to bring to the table.
I also think that would help control the number of coaches in each corner.

A suit is for the office, grave yard and wedings. If my kids are going to any of them I will be in a suit.

This is about the kids.At any time at all I have had kids ask me to go over a move. Some times right befor there match. At that time I drop to the floor and show them.Normaly I am on my back or my face [always good to rem that chicken wing].

Ever place I have taken kids to be live on the mat,I dress nice. But I can tell you my wife has ask me PLZ PLZ do not wear my white shirts.

This is about the kids. Not how good some old guy[I am old ] looks in his suit.If we are going to see how nice the coches look make us wear singlets. That will show what we do all year long. You want to show the kids some thing.Show the kids how to take care of your self by eating good and staying in shape.

Plz dont vote the singlets it.
