103pounds•FIRST TEAM: Daniel Lewis, Blue Springs, freshman. Record: 46-2. Missouri Class 4 state champion who endedwith wins over the second- and third-place finishers in his bracket. Lewis also won titles at his district tournament, the Bobcat Classic and had two victories over the Missouri Class 3 state champion.
•Second team: Noah Teaney, Oak Park, freshman
•Honorable mention: John Erneste, Park Hill, freshman; Luke Henes, St. Thomas Aquinas, freshman

112 pounds •FIRST TEAM: Jaret Singh, Kearney, sophomore. Record: 46-2. He improved on his third-place finish at state as a freshman with a terrific sophomore season that culminated in a Missouri Class 3 state championship. Singh, whose only losses this season were by forfeit and disqualification, took home a district title and won at the Toshiba Midwest Classic.
•Second team: Mitchell Bradley, Oak Grove, senior
•Honorable mention: Michael Olsen, Park Hill, freshman; Corey Spader, Spring Hill, sophomore

119 pounds •FIRST TEAM: Bo Pursel, Lansing, junior. Record: 36-1. A three-time state champion, Pursel took six tournament titles in a season that included four wins against current or former state champions. Pursel won tournament titles at Emporia, Basehor-Linwood, Holton and Baldwin before winning a regional championship.
•Second team: Austin Hood, Louisburg, junior
•Honorable mention: Anthony Barker, Oak Grove, sophomore; Hunter Haralson, Lawrence, sophomore

125 pounds •FIRST TEAM: Bricker Dixon, Park Hill, senior. Record: 51-3. Dixon beat the second- and third-place state finishers on the way to his second consecutive Missouri Class 4 state title. He won the Toshiba Midwest Classic by beating a three-time state champion from Georgia. All of three of Dixon’s losses were to nationally ranked opponents from out of state.
•Second team: Skylar Wood, Platte County, junior
•Honorable mention: Tre Humphrey, SM South, senior; Caleb Seaton, Bonner Springs, senior

130 pounds •FIRST TEAM: Cody Brewer, Oak Park, senior. Record: 51-1. Brewer won his fourth consecutive Missouri state championship, becoming just the 20th wrestler in state history to achieve the feat. He won the Toshiba Midwest Classic and had two wins over the Missouri Class 4 state champion and victories over six state runners-up. Will wrestle next season at Oklahoma.
•Second team: Darick Lapaglia, Blue Springs, sophomore
•Honorable mention: Grant Leeth, Kearney, freshman; TJ Stokes, Gardner Edgerton, junior

135 pounds •FIRST TEAM: Zack Tanenbaum, Blue Valley North, senior. Record: 40-0. A four-time state finalist and three-time champion, Tanenbaum capped his career by cruising to a second straight Kansas 6A state title. Tanenbaum, who is bound for Brown University, took first at the Bobcat Classic in a bracket that included six state champions.
•Second team: Cain Salas, Oak Park, sophomore
•Honorable mention: Jonathan Blackwell, Bonner Springs, sophomore; Greg Hegarty, Blue Springs, junior

140 pounds •FIRST TEAM: Taylor Moeder, St. James Academy, senior. Record: 49-0. Possibly no wrestler in Kansas was more dominant. He had 28 pins and didn’t allow a point at the 4A state tournament. Moeder, a three-time state champion who signed with Old Dominion, won titles at Gardner Edgerton, Tulsa Union, the Johnson County Classic, Platte County, Garden City, Basehor-Linwood, Silver Lake and at regionals.
•Second team: Keenan Hagerty, Blue Springs, senior
•Honorable mention: Gage Harrison, Oak Park, senior; Joe Hunter, Harrisonville, junior

145 pounds •FIRST TEAM: Preston Crouse, Park Hill, senior. Record: 51-3. Won the Toshiba Midwest Classic and finished third at the Missouri Class 4 state tournament, where he lost his first match of the season to the eventual state champion. Beat the third-place finisher at 140 pounds in Class 2 and third-place finisher at 152 in Class 3.
•Second team: Spencer Blew, Lansing, senior
•Honorable mention: Andrew Denning, Lawrence, sophomore; Brian Haynes, Oak Park, senior

152 pounds •FIRST TEAM: Ryne Cokeley, St. James Academy. Record: 47-2. The 26th four-time state champion in Kansas history. Cokeley had only losses — to two-time national champion Oliver Pierce of Allen, Texas, and to Christian Loges, the Nebraska Class B champion. He won seven tournament titles and beat three state champions, including Kansas 6A champion Connor Middleton, 45-1, and Jeromy Davenport, a four-time champ in Oklahoma.
•Second team: Connor Middleton, Olathe Northwest, senior
•Honorable mention: Dillon Scanlon, Lansing, senior; Gage Shaddox, Liberty, senior

160 pounds •FIRST TEAM: Patrick Rhoads, Staley, senior. Record: 51-1. Capped his career with his second consecutive Missouri Class 3 state championship. Owned victories over the second- and third-place finishers at state. His only loss came to Cody Lindsay, the 171-pound Missouri Class 4 state champion from Ozark.
•Second team: Caleb Titus, Oak Grove, senior.
•Honorable mention: Chandler Smith, Rockhurst, senior; Brock St. Louis, North Kansas City, senior.

171 pounds •FIRST TEAM: Reece Wright-Conklin, Lawrence, junior. Record: 37-0. Conklin won his second straight Kansas 6A state championship. He was selected as the outstanding wrestler at the Sunflower League and regional meets, as well as at the Rocky Mountain Nationals. Wright-Conklin finished the season with 21 pins.
•Second team: Blaine Hill, Shawnee Mission East, junior
•Honorable mention: Tyler Baughman, Lansing, senior; Kaleb Sweet, Staley, senior

189 pounds •FIRST TEAM: Zach Grimes, Osawatomie, senior. Record: 44-2. Bounced back from offseason knee surgery to fix an injury suffered as a junior in the consolation semifinals at state. Grimes capped his career with a third-place finish at the Kansas 4A state tournament. A three-time state medalist, Grimes’ only losses came in the state semifinals to Clay Center’s Zach Anderson and to undefeated 5A champion Donnie Lockhart.
•Second team: Jared Love, Kearney, senior
•Honorable mention: Lewis Foutz, Blue Springs, senior; Donny Parr, De Soto senior

215 pounds •FIRST TEAM: Hashem Omari, Oak Park, junior. Record: 49-1. His state tournament ended in heartbreak — he lost to the eventual state champion, someone he’d already beaten, in the semifinals — but it’s hard to diminish what Omari accomplished during the season. He won the Toshiba Midwest Classic by beating Nick Cobb, a state champion from Texas, and finished the regular season with 27 wins by fall.
•Second team: Ben Poeschl, Lee’s Summit West, senior
•Honorable mention: Nathan Butler, Leavenworth, sophomore; Boomer Mays, Eudora, senior

285 pounds •FIRST TEAM: Dalton Presley, Center, senior. Record: 52-1. Presley ended his career on a high note by winning his first state championship. He was dominant most of the season, racking up 39 pins, and owned victories over the third-place finisher at Missouri Class 4 state tournament and the second-place finisher in Class 1. His only loss was to the Class 3 state champion.
•Second team: Evan Boehm, Lee’s Summit West, junior
•Honorable mention: Arbanas Elliott, Blue Valley Northwest, senior; Eric Mason, St. Thomas Aquinas, junior

THE SELECTION PROCESS The Kansas City Star’s All-Metro selections were made by members of the high school sports staff, who consulted with coaches. An athlete must participate in at least 60 percent of the competition for which the athlete has qualified to be eligible for first-team selection and 50 percent to be eligible for second-team and honorable-mention selection. At least 10 percent of the Kansas City metropolitan area high schools must participate in a sport for an All-Metro team to be selected. First-team, second-team and honorable mention selections are made in sports with more than 40-percent participation. First-team and second-team selections are made in sports with between 16- and 40-percent participation. First-team selections only are made in sports with between 10- and 15 percent participation.
