Jared scored on a reversal, and Luke scored two escapes, and got a penalty awarded from Jared false-starting. Originally, I thought the score was 4-3, but after reviewing the tape I think it was 3-2.
Congratulations to Jared! Three state titles in a row is an extraordinary accomplishment in itself. In the last two years he has also followed his State Championships with a first place at Nationals in 2002 and a second place this year at Nationals in his first year in the schoolboy/girl age bracket. I would say this has been a pretty dominant performance. He has probably done more that I do not know the specifics of.
Jared is the same class of wrestler as Tischhauser. Jared is another great wrestler for a younger wrestler to watch and learn from. He is a great athlete who has a lot of potential for future success. Team Kansas will be very strong with him and Marvio as a foundation when they are Seniors.
