Who were the OW's of the two big tourneys this week and hat do you think they did to earn them that title?

I was shocked as I watched from the comfort of my home, that one of the Blue Springs lower weight kids had pinned EVERYONE in the FIRST period up until the finals. He didn't get a pin in the finals. But, the Blue Springs kid won by a LARGE margin. And if I remember right, he was like a freshman or Sophomore or something!

On an off-related note - thank you VERY MUCH for the people/sponsors that made the live streaming via PC's possible.

I have never been to Base/Linwood, but after watching the live feed, I will try to find time in my schedule for it next year, not only top quality wrestling (often times in the finals it was an undefeated vs. an undefeated, or a multi-state champ vs. a multi-state champ!)

Even the intro's of the wrestlers was AWESOME! Dark gym, lights out except for different colored beams shooting back and forth across the gym, Metallica blasting in the background, the kids wrestling history being announced.. .(and large pic being put on a wall via a projector) all made for a highly anticipated event from me!

It was like a pro wrestling intro kind of thing - MINUS all the silliness that goes with the pro version.

Thanks again to all that made the live feed possible. I never knew it was such an impressive, high-quality tourney until I saw the finals on my PC the other night.

As noted by Mr. Salyer on the Newton TOC post, Kyle Crutchmer - Tulsa Union High School. I believe that every match he had prior to the finals, he was practicing his take downs, kind of like a game of catch and release, or as another fan described it, he was playing with his food.

Thank you Lee. So, Crutchmer put on a TD show. Very cool.

Did the Blue Springs kid who pinned EVERYBODY in the first round, (except his finalist - who the Blue Springs kid won by about 10) did he win it?

If not, then who else and why? I have never seen a kid so dominate at such a quality tournament.

Yes he won it! He beat Bryce Shomaker in the finals who also had a very impressive tournament knocking off 2 state champs in route to the finals.
