CADET – Freestyle

HIGH SCHOOL – Greco
WEIGHTS= 94, 100, 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220, 285

YOUTH (Ages 6+) – Freestyle and Greco
WEIGHTS = Wrestlers will be grouped as close as possible by age and weight

REGISTRATION: PRE REGISTER ONLINE – www.trackwrestling.com
Online registration will close Thursday April 18th at 11pm
Onsite registration is available FRIDAY NIGHT ONLY during weigh ins with an increased fee
There is NO REGISTRATION SATURDAY MORNING
All wrestlers who preregister online will receive a free tournament t-shirt.
Wrestlers can enter as many divisions as they choose as long as they do not exceed
maximum age requirements for that division.



*JR’s may enter the University division, but the signing of an additional waiver will be required

Cost is $25 for one division and $15 per additional division.

WEIGH INS: FRIDAY- 6-8pm & SATURDAY 7-8am (Must be preregistered to weigh in on Saturday)
All Jr/Cadet/High School division wrestlers must make scratch weight
University wrestlers will receive a 2KG allowance

AWARDS: University champion will receive an Under Armour quarter zip pullover, 2nd and 3rd will also receive awards.
JR/Cadet/ High School Greco – Top 3 will receive awards
Youth Division – top 2 in each pool will receive awards

TIMES: 9am: University Freestyle, High School Greco, and Youth Greco
JR/Cadet/ Youth FS will immediately follow after completion of the Greco brackets

SANCTION: All wrestlers will be required to have a 2013 USA Wrestling card. No one will be allowed to weigh in without presenting their current USA Wrestling card.

NOTE: There is no minimum rest time requirement, regardless of the number of brackets you choose to enter.

I assume we'll be well represented at all levels high school and down, but anyone aware of any probable Kansas entries within the University Division?

Coach Smith at MU has committed to sending some of his guys to the tournament. I have sent the info to all the college coaches in KS, MO, IA, and surrounding area. I am hoping and expecting a decent turn out for the university division. I know it is competing with FILA JR and the OPEN this year, but I think there are a lot of guys who can’t attend those who will be able to come to KC. Next year we will have this tournament on a different date so it doesn’t conflict with FILA JR and The Open.

My only concern is that this is the only tournament in our area for university level. So to have my son wrestle 1 day is going to be $50 + travel. And being the first year how many matches will he get? Don't get me wrong he will be there but we are trying to get others from his school to go and money might be an issue for some college kids. Not that you have control over the money considering they have to buy a USA wrestling card but if there were more opportunity to wrestle it would make it worth while to spend the $35 on a card. Thanks for expanding and adding this division hopefully it will start a trend in offseason wrestling for this level in KS!

The University guys should get a card it also provides them with insurance in case they become counselors at summer camps and clinics. As long as the camps/clinics being held are sanctioned by the USA wrestling state organization. Private insurance at high schools in the summer can be very expensive - I have set up some summer camps and the best and most affordable way to is to use USA Wrestling and have a secondary insurance policy with the school. That is just an FYI if you plan to hold summer camps and clinics. Now is the time to get all that paper work ironed out prior to camps and clinics beginning in the summer.

I shared this info regarding the University Division with the coaches at Maryville University in St Louis & hope some of their guys will compete.

Several of the Maryville wrestlers are from the Kansas City Metro area.

Wow it's only Wednesday and the university division is stacked!! But where are the KS wrestlers? It's not to late to get registered!
