Miller to Headline 2018 Clinic

Salina, KS -- The Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association is proud to announce that retired coach, Jim Miller of Wartburg College will be headlining this year's "Fritz Knorr" Clinic on Friday, Oct. 5 and Saturday, Oct. 6. Coach Miller brings many years of experience and too many accolades mention.

KWCA President, Nate Naasz had this to say regarding Miller, "Anytime you can bring in someone with credentials like Coach Miller, we can truly help our coaches have a greater positive impact on their athletes and continue to grow wrestling across the state. We are blessed to have someone who coached Wartburg to 21 Conference titles and 10 NCAA Team Titles here this Fall."

In addition to Coach Miller sharing his philosophy, practice planning, technique, and many other topics over two days, the clinic will also feature new Southwestern College Women's Head Coach, Sarah Bollinger, as well as high school coaches presenting on such topics as Freestyle & Greco-Roman and women's wrestling. 2017 NFHS National High School Coach of the Year, Robert Gonzales of Manhattan HS will also be present to share his coaching journey with member coaches.

Friday night (Oct. 5) closes with a social for the coaches and will include roundtable discussions, one of which will be with KWOA official, Mark Wallace and a few of his area officiating colleagues.

Saturday (Oct. 6) will close with the Annual Awards and Hall of Fame Banquet where all of last Spring's award winners will receive their award. The Hall of Fame induction ceremony for coaches, Bill Christner and Jim Beltch will take place after the banquet lunch. To see a full listing of this year's award winners visit the following link.

Registration will be opening shortly and a full schedule will be posted to the KWCA site soon. Coaches, make sure to keep an eye out for your clinic packet that will be mailed to your school in the near future.
