With three champions, Wyoming edges Campbell to win Reno Tournament of Champions

RENO, Nev. – Led by three individual champions, with three runners-up and nine placewinners, Wyoming won the Reno Tournament of Champions on Sunday.

Cowboy champions were Montorie Bridges (133), Dewey Krueger (157) and Tate Samuelson (184). Three other Wyoming wrestlers reached the finals and ended up second: Jaron Jensen (149), Cole Moody (165) and Hayden Hastings (174).

Krueger was named Outstanding Wrestler after defeating unattached Hunter Willits of Oregon State in the finals, 3-1 in sudden victory.

Wyoming scored 155.5 points, ahead of runner-up Campbell, which had 147 points.

The runner-up Camels were led by four individual champions, the most of any team: Korbin Meink (125), Josh Heil (141), Quentin Perez (165) and Jere Heino (285).

Placing third with 75 points was NAIA powerhouse Grand View, with 75 points. Grand View did not have any finalists, with its top placer being Renaldo Rodriguez-Spencer, who was third at 157. Two other Vikings placed sixth.

Other individual champions were Jaden Abas, unattached-Stanford (149), Lucas Lovvorn of Baker University (174) and Cade Belshay of Arizona State (197).
