This time of year, I really miss coaching wrestling. Most of the year, I don't. The grind got old, the mornings got earlier, the late night drives got tougher. But, I miss the excitement of this time of the season. I miss the anticipation of regionals and state. I miss trying to get guys "peaked" for that ten day period when they must be at their best both mentally and physically. Most of all, I miss the relationships that you build with your athletes, opponents, your coaches, other coaches, and even some officials! Wrestling is special. There is nothing else like it. Maybe it's because you see each other so many times a year the whole community gets close. You know each other. Enjoy the moments, cherish the time, make some memories with your guys. You're going to miss it someday!
