Possible changes to postseason calendar could be coming.

12. Winter Postseason Protocol – As staff continues to prepare for state championship
events, there have been significant discussion regarding format of these events for the
upcoming winter season. The board will discuss input regarding expectations for number
of qualifying teams, protocols for seeding, and other efforts to make these events
appropriately significant. – (Information, Discussion, Action)

Basketball – It is recommended the Executive Board approve postseason
recommendations per support material which include geographic seeding for preliminary
rounds, quarterfinals at the higher seed on Monday/Tuesday of championship week, four
teams advancing to neutral state site, and the elimination of the third place games (both
semifinal losers receive third place plaque and medals)

Bowling – It is recommended the Executive Board approve state competition format as
provided in the support material (this is a work in progress and we believe it will be ready
in time for Exec Board meeting).

Scholars Bowl – It is recommended the Executive Board approve in-person postseason
competition per refined qualifying tournament protocol (this is a work in progress and we
believe it will be ready in time for Exec Board meeting).

Swimming & Diving – It is recommended the Executive Board approve state competition
per refined protocol (this is a work in progress and we believe it will be ready in time for
Exec Board meeting).

Wrestling – It is recommended the Executive Board approve state competition format as
provided in the support material which includes additional qualifying rounds and a change
in postseason calendar (this is a work in progress and we believe it will be ready in time
for Exec Board meeting).
