I think it is about time for 456A state to have a new soundtrack while introducing the medalists for each weight. Back in the day, my weight class had "Eye of the Tiger," which is a classic, but by now it is kind of archaic. I would have much rather had "Fat Bottom Girls" by Queen or any song by The Darkness.

So here's the list of questions--what songs would you like to see gone? What would fill their place? If you had just won a state title, what would you like to hear? Do they do this for 321A state? Does your antiperspirant work for 24 hours? Paper or plastic? Boxers or briefs? Why can't I end this topic?

Your thoughts, please.

Congrats, Aquinas!
Great job, Hat Town!

Don't know what to drop. Put in some Drowning Pool "Let the bodies hit the floor" or Mudvayne "dig". 24 hr anti-persprirant yes. paper. briefs ladies you know why. You have no life as far as why you can't end topic. But hey I answered.

Definitely Drowning Pool, and maybe "Welcome to the Jungle".

"Sirius" by the Alan Parsons Project (it's a sports classic)
"Right Here, Right Now" by Fatboy Slim
"The Final Countdown" by Europe (or at least that keyboard riff)
"Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne
"Take it to the Limit" by The Eagles
Theme from "The Magnificant Seven"
"Tribute" by Tenacious D
"Keep Pushin' On" by R.E.O. Speedwagon
"Ridin' the Storm Out" by R.E.O. Speedwagon
"Fat Bottomed Girls" by Queen
"Play the Game Tonight" by Kansas
"Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns 'N' Roses
"Twilight Zone (When the Bullet Hits the Bone)" by Golden Earring
"I'm in a Hurry" by Alabama

Just a few good ones that I'd pick...

Great picks, pup. Especially FBG and The D. But everyone remember--these are not "pump up" songs. These are songs for after all of the top 6 have been wrestled out and the placers are walking up to the podium. So keep those triumph songs a'comin'.

I think the type of song you are looking would
be "Stand Up for the Champions" by Ballerman Hits
you can get it on KAZAA

Back in the day when I wrestled they only took mugshots of the contestants

That's a good one, didn't they play it in some sports montage? I can't remember which one, but I do remember hearing it, and it was good. Was it the Bix XII championship?

I am the designated Soundtrack technician at the Wichita Colisseum for the songs to be played during the state medalists walk to the podium. These are the following songs that will be played in a continious loop:

1. "Macho man" by the Village People
2. "I Just Called to Say I Love You" by Stevie Wonder
3. "Say You'll Be There" by the Spice Girls
4. "Kiss Me" by Six Pence None the Richer
5. "The Animal Song" by Savage Garden
6. "Do You Believe in Magic?" by Lov'n Spoonfuls
7. "Just Want to be with YOu" by Enrique Iglesias
8. "Landslide" by the Dixie Chicks
9. "Out of Touch" by Hall and Oates
10. "This is the Night" and "Invisible" by Clay Aiken
11. "Joy of Pepsi" by Brittany Spears
12. "Just the Two of Us" by Will Smith
13. "Aint No Mountain High Enough" by Michael McDonald

Please give me comments and tell me if these songs are acceptable for the medalist walk....

"Play the Game Tonight" by Kansas:

You think that something's happening
And it's bigger than your life
But it's only what you're hearing
Will you still remember
When the morning light has come
Will the songs be playing over and over
Till you do it all over again

Play, play the game tonight
Can you tell me if it's wrong or right
It is worth the time, is it worth the price
Do you see yourself in a white spotlight
Then play the game tonight

And when the curtains open
To the roaring of the crowd
You will feel it all around you
Then it finally happens
And it's all come true for you
And the songs are playing over and over
Till you do it over again

"Keep Pushin'" by REO Speedwagon

I used to be lonely till I learned about livin alone
I found other things to keep my mind on
And I'm gettin to know myself a little bit better
Whoa , I keep pushin on
Keep pushin on, yeah

Goin through all the changes I made so many mistakes, oh yes I did
Tryin to leave behind the heartaches
And sometimes I think I was a little bit crazy, oh yeah
Whoa, I keep pushin on

Keep pushin, keep pushin, keep pushin, keep pushin on
Keep pushin, keep pushin, you know you have got to be so strong
Keep pushin, keep pushin, well even if you think your strength is gone
Keep pushin on

(solo)

Well it's comin together I finally feel like a man, oh yes I do
I never thought that I'd be where I am, oh
Everyday I wake a little bit higher
Whoa I keep pushin on, oh yeah
(repeat chorus)

RocknRaider, my good old colleague in crime here are some more:

Pretty Fly for a White Guy (that would probably be good for the smaller schools)

Gangstas Paradise (better for the bigger schools)

Rico Suave (good for the western schools)

I would also think the following would be just as good:

Could be the 4a Anthem this year: Mommas Don't Let your Babies Grow up to be Cowboys.

We've only just begun by the Carpenters (for all of the college bound guys)

The Locamotion! (for when they are entering the stadium to accept their medals and are lined up)

Oh man...right before a rival type match: WHY CAN'T WE BE FRIENDS? WHY CAN'T WE BE FRIENDS?

For anybody that is back after an injury or failed to qualify last year after making it before: Don't call it a comeback

For wrestling neiborhood commoradary (tough word...lol): The Sesame Street Theme

Oxymoronic Anthem: Loser

Finally for all of those who's aspirations of placing came true: When you Wish upon a Star.
