Whoever has listed Cone at 215; you do know that Rose from Osawatomie has beat him twice? And at 189 Justin Pritchet has split wit Barr and is 1-0 against Tucker. So you can't count either one of these wrestlers out. Even though I'm sure they can also be beat by any of the wrestlers listed above them if they don't show up to wrestle.

Either Spring Hill is badly over-seeded or they will win this regional easily

I give the heavyweight final to David Downing of Atchison he should beat Kush by points or pin.

I think Chad Roberts will win at 145. He's good off of his feet so he'll get an early lead, and I don't think that Starcher can come back. Chad is just to smart of a wrestler.

Was there any surprises or was there any particular matches that stuck out?

Mark Millstead took 3rd at 125 and the guy that took first has already lost to mark several times.

anyone that saw the consolation semifinals match at 140 between Chad Starcher of Tongie and the Spring Hill kid (sorry, can't remember the name) was treated to a great battle. Chad had to ride the kid out for almost a minute to hold on to a 1 pt. lead. And, to make things more difficult, Chad was riding with basically only one arm. Chad won, and it was an exciting match

Look who pinned cone for the third time and took second at regionals. Cone or adcox didnt even make it to state.

Shut up Danny, you had a weak bracket. You did a good job but there is no reason to brag.

I'm glad you think so but what does that have to do with the Hiawatha regionals?

My new hero is Chad Starcher! That boy shouldn't even be wrestling!
He went threw the entire tournament with one arm in immense pain and on pure determination!
He did an outstanding job making it to State.
The 135 Lb kid from Atchison that finally got disqualified for body slamming every single one of his opponents should have gotten called on that much sooner!

Yes Chad Starcher showed what it is to be a wrestler this weekend...tons of heart and determination even in the face of adversity. He should do well at state and hopefully the arm heals somewhat...Good Luck Chad!!!

Yes, Chad did show a lot of courage in the way he hung in there Saturday, especially in his consolation semi. He wanted that one bad and went out and got it.

But Kansas 123, you got a couple of things wrong on your other comments. For one, it was Atchison's 130-pounder, not 135 that was called for the slam Saturday. For another, if he had slammed "every single one of his opponents" he would have been called much sooner. This is a rough sport, and sometimes things happen, and it was unfortunate that Tommy Callahan was shaken up on that move.

But at no time did Jovonnie ever deliberatly attempt to hurt anyone; he's certainly not that kind of kid, and if nothing else he knows that if he brings someone back to the mat too hard, he could lose the match because of it.

Altogether this year, Jovonnie was called for three slams and in one of those, the official later apologized later for the call. That's in 31 matches. And up until that last match Saturday, five highly-qualified officials at Hiawatha had failed to see anything wrong with what he did. He's an aggressive wrestler — unfortunatly, sometimes you get labeled for that. The good news is he's a sophomore and he'll be back; more experienced, stronger and a lot more hungry.

Have a great State tournament everyone!!!

189 proved to be a battle like I thought it would be. Did he think it was a freestyle match? Because if he didn't it looked like he got frustrated because he got put to his back twice and decided he would sufle'(I know I didn't spell that right) our kid. I was very angry because this was the most intentional looking slam I had ever seen. I thought Callahan broke his neck the way he hit. This took aggressive wrestling to the next level.

Ya Franklin did look a little mad when callahan put him to his back and he looked a little mad so he slammed him no accident.
