Saw that Disney Channel post and thought I'd start up a similar one -

What are all of the wrestling movies out there? Everyone knows (and most love it) "Vision Quest." For about 2 years, my email account was hit by a barrage of mass mailings about "Reversal," overworking my spam filter (the emails have finally stopped). Back in high school Coach Harris let us watch the cheesiest film called "One More Shot" starring Danny Hodge and John Smith and some other yahoo I didn't know. For good laughs and good wrestling check that one out. If you want substance to your wrestling movie... don't watch it.

So, are there any other wrestling films out there? (good or bad, cheesy or quality)

Wrestlemania 3 was the best of all. The greatest display of human strength on record was when Hulk Hogan (Hulkamania days, not "Hollywood Hulk") bodyslammed 500+ pound Andre the Giant. It was so awesome that I spilled HiC all over the floor at my Cub Scouts troop 274 meeting.

There are a bunch of Ultimate Fighting Champ. matches on KAZAA No story but good take downs
not as punching biting etc. as you might think.
Good submission holds.
Just search for UFC.

Calling a bluff on 22...Wrestlemania 20 is this Sunday.

As for WM 3 and Hulk v. Andre as the best match, that was pretty emotional as a kid, but going back...hands down you have to go with either Ricky "the Dragon" Steamboat beating Randy "Macho Man" Savage for the IC Belt of the 6 man tag with Hillbilly Jim and 2 midgets vs. King Kong Bundy and 2 midgets.

WM 2 was good also.

Reversal review off of my web page, will actually take you to another site is http://www.furches.org/writing/reviews/hollywood_jesus.html Just scroll down and click on the link, I actually have an interview with the makers of the movie and am pretty good friends with Jimi. I also have these movies for sale for those that are interested. I am using the money to take my son to Reno for the World's this year. Another good movie though that deals with wrestling is Paradise Alley with Sylvester Stallone. Vision Quest to me was a little overboard and not realistic enough, maybe only The Sweaz or Dingbat gets the girl like that, but most of us didn't. I'll watch the Disney movie but the previews look pretty hokey so far, have to wait and see.

Ultimate Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania 6 I do believe. That match was so unpredictable on who was going to win. Vision Quest was also good.

Now it's time for Aaron Sweazy's WRESTLEMANIA TRIVIA:

Ok with wrestlemania comming up and some huge fans, I'm going to ask a trivia question...this should be easy and be able to be found online.

Here's an easy one:

S.D. "Special Delivery" Jones took on King Kong Bundy in WM 1 with King Kong Bundy winning very quickly...according to announcer Howard Finkel, what was the time of the fall?

Funny thing about "One More Shot." My senior year at State, in Oklahoma, the producer and director were announced and they talked about the movie and how life like it was. Well it was showing in Stillwater and a few guys off the team and I went to see it. It was the worst movie ever. So, we sat there and made fun of it, cause we were the only ones in the theater. We got up about half way through, I think it was after the part where Danny Hodge told him to crumple news paper with one hand to make him stronger, and walked out. On the way out we found out that we were not the only ones in the theater, but the director and producer were sitting in the back by the door as we left...DOH!!! What can you say the movie was horrible.

My vote is for Loudan Swain in Vision Quest. Best wrestling movie ever. AC Slater and friends comes in second.

I believe that the best Wrestlemania ever was the 14th installment of that beloved series. You had Stone Cold wrestling Shawn Michaels with Mike Tyson as the ref. Pure genius.

Also, that was the Wrestlemania with the greatest storyline of all time. "What was that storyline?" you might ask. I'll tell you. Kane against the Undertaker.

With these two matches on the card, how can any other Wrestlemania even begin to compete.

Am I the only person around that thought that watching "Reversal" was like being punched in the gut. I didn't enjoy the movie at all. To me it seemed to be about starving to death more than being about wrestling. Also, if you duct tape your eight year old up in trash bags and make him sweat off pounds, that is borderline child abuse.

Bobby, I think it was disney or somebody who put one out called "Spooner". It had Rober Urich in it and he was a wrestling coach. Check it out.

I said it was like being punched in the gut. Yea, this stuff goes on but in this movie it is way out of hand. It is the story of failure and burn out. It may be true but I don't have to like it. Passion and movies like Schindlers List have a purpose in dragging out these painful images and making us look them in the face. This move had no reason for dragging these things out except to expose the darker side of kids wrestling. I got from the director that he wasn't so much as oppposed to this type of behavior as he was just resentfull to the sport as a whole. If his message was to not do this to yourself than it takes a lot of searching to find this hidden meaning. I starved for two of the four years I wreslted in high school, it was stupid and I don't want to go back. Vision Quest is a little more acceptable because Louden is much older when he punnishes his body. Plus, I was just more entertained by Vision Quest than by "Pasion of the " Reversal.
