Its not that 215lb doesn't have studs. It is that there aren't as many at 215 as there are in the middle weights.

A ha! I have yet another reason why we have less wins due to less matches. We go through the front side of brackets. I know that I was never on the back side of a bracket, which lowers my match total. 6a 215 has a bunch of total bad-a's, and we always go through the front side.

And the middle weights also aren't that hard always. 6a 140 was trash. I think the winner had 14 losses.

I am pretty sure that Alvin Metcalf from Fort Scott is a 3 time state placer. His regional bracket was so stacked one year, he couldn't even qualify for state. It might be that same year that the Top 4 from his regional took 3,4,5,and 6th at state. Thats called a loaded weight class.

An example as to the quantity of studs is found in other brackets. This year, Cory Bloodgood didn't place at state @ 119lbs in highschool. He was teched by Dawson of Abilene. Three weeks later, he won a kids state bracket with 6 highschool state placers. The bracket included a 6a HS state champion and Dawson, the 4a state runner-up. If they wrestled his 4a highschool state bracket again, there would be a different outcome every time.

I would say that the toughest bracket would be the one with the least amount of pins, tech falls, and major decisions.

You see an awfull lot of pins, techs, and majors at 215 (well not techs) and 275.

You see an awful lot of one point overtime matches in the middle weights.

215 was probably in the top 3 weakest weights in fact, but it has it's share of good wrestlers, it's not all trash, like 103.

There are a lot of 1pt matches at 215. I don't think you know what you're talking about. And Kids is different. No one that's good cares about Kids once they get into high school. Unless they're tools. I didn't care and I won that last year by 9.

Ok, last year's 4a state tournament at 215, I guess everyone placed? Because if you look, everyone in that bracket had a winning record.

And I challenge you to tell Jordan Bedore or Zach Hemmerling that they won a weak weight class for two years... see how that turns out...

You named the only exceptions. Hemmerling beat me by 8 both times, and I haven't wrestled Bedore since his sophomore year at Kids, where he beat me 1-0. And 4a 215 was total trash. Seriously, you have no idea. I beat the champ by 10. That says bad things for that bracket. I beat the runner-up, who defeated the champ 3 times before that year, by 4, and that was a huge 4, because I was incredibly out of shape. 4a 215 is trash because they wrestle trash schools and the best of the trashy people qualify with winning records versus the trash in the weight at that class has.

I only went through the back bracket once the whole year until state so suck it, Jhris is right.

Also, I lost to Jimmy Stewart (the Paola kid) at Basehoor-Linwood in the finals. He took me down with one second left and then got a takedown in the third period to make it 4-2. He was good and would have place at 160 for sure. I mean hell, I got beat out at 189 last year and I could have won 5A state this year. I beat that state champ and the guy who got third in 5A. One year make a ton of difference.

If you want a weak weight class look at 6A Heavyweight. That one was a cakewalk.

I can personally vouch for this because last year I was JV then this year placed at state...

Yes Jhris but didn't you lose the state finals match to someone who you dominated earlier in the season? So I think your point about 4a being trash is not a valid one.

Yeah and I also had 2 torn meniscus in my knee, but this isn't about me. This is about crappy weights. And I think my points are good enough to make 6a 215 one of the middle-best weights. Yes, middle-best is a word.

Well you seemed in good enough shape to make it to the finals. So being hurt doesn't sway my opinion...or is this a point how easy the upper weights are, that you can make the finals with a hurt knee...
