There were alot of people that we hurt/sick. At 112 if Buehler was there he wouldve won.If Kyle Grape was there at 130 he wouldve won. And if Max Connely was there at 135 him and Middleton wouldve had one badass match.

Somehow I see in Wiscomes future the same result as on Saturday in Bonner against Erisman in Regionals! Only worse. Maybe by then however he will have learned not be such a poor looser!
At least Eden took his loss against Starcher with a little more grace.
Broadbend was impressive, as was Cody Bell. Jess Buck from Bonner Springs did a good job defeting Crotinger from SFT as well. Leif Goleman from De Soto had a cakewalk.
All in all it was not a terribly tough competition.

Kansas 123, Generally I don't reply to people who don't have guts enough to put thier name on a post but I take exception to your comment. The name is spelled Wiscombe and he won't see Neil at Regionals. As for being a poor loser, I thought he handled himself well. Both wrestlers were in the heat of the battle at the end and I certainly didn't think Neil was out of line when he cracked Justin going out of bounds. Justin responded to that instinctively as did Neil. Thats the nature of the game. Most competive athletes take losing hard. I would be disappointed if he didn't take it hard. As for our Regionals, I'll let him do the talking on the mat. We won't use our idol time cutting some kid down. Congrats to Bonner on the league title!

Sorry if my post offended you.
But not giving your opponent a chance to be introduced and pushing him once the final whistle has been blown because you lost the match is not exactly good sportsman ship.
I have watched a lot of Wrestlers over the years and I have seen a lot of them loose, but few of them have problems controling their emotions even though they're disappointed. I would be upset too if they weren't angry at loosing, but there is a time and a place for everything.
I just feel that every athlete should treat his opponent with respect on and off the mat and that isn't always the case. You treat people the way you want them to treat you.

Kansas 123, I didn't push Neil because I lost the match, yes I was upset that I lost! But I would have never pushed him if he didn't hit me in my head. He apologized for doing it. It was just natural instinct for me to do somthing back. After I shoved him I regained my composure and just went on with my day.

That doesn't sound like something Neil would do, but let's leave it at that. You still should have shown more respect at the introductions. You've been there often enough to know how they work without leaving your opponent standing there and not having a chance of being properly introduced.
All in all I'd just like to see nicer behavior out there on the mat. Win or loose. I know wrestling is very competitive and you guys work hard, but you still have to control your emotions before, during and after a match. You represent yourselves, your schools, your parents and the sport. So do them and yourselves proud.

I was right at mat side and I didn’t see any poor sportsmanship out of either Neil or Justin. They just kept going until the whistle and their momentum kept going after the whistle there was not any malice between them, just competitiveness. It was good physical match and its not easy to turn the switch off exactly at the final whistle in those types of matches. I guess you could compare it to stopping a train on a dime. Neil and Justin are both class acts and I hope to see them in the finals of the state tournament. Two years ago Justin lost to one of my wrestlers several times and always handled himself with great dignity. I would avoid mistaking competitiveness to poor sportsmanship.

I agree it was a great match and coach neil is right. its not easy when your focused in a match like that to just stop at the sound of the whistle. there was nothing wrong with what neil or wiscombe did. its all apart of wrestling. I to hope to see wiscombe and neil in the finals to see another great match. good luck to both wrestlers

Obviously everybody is welcome to their own opinion. I never said that wrestling isn't tough nor competetive. I and quiete a few of the good folks that watched the match saw behavior they didn't think was necessary.
I simply stated an observation.

kansas 123,

I saw the match between Wiscombe and Erisman and felt the same way you did.
Right on brother!

There are way too many people today trying to make wrestling into some technical chess match. The basis of the sport is physical aggression. There is a line that can be crossed but over the years we have allowed the sport to be watered down and if it continues the true core of the sport will be lost. It is not, and shouldnt be a nice sport, if it was it wouldnt have the lure and addiction it has on many of us. Appreciate the intensity of the kids and let them battle, dont criticise it.
