What does every body think about xbox and ps2 making a wrestling video game. I mean they have Track and Field games and other Olmpic video games. I thenk if we can talk to the right person then this could happen some day. They can make poker games and pool games but not a wrestling game. We dont get any kind of respect.

I agree with you as does everyone else. The fact of the matter is though it's not as simple as throwing or shooting something. There are so many combination moves, counters, and other factors involved in wrestling that you cannot simulate with a bunch of buttons. You cannot go from a high crotch to a double with just a few buttons presses, what if you get out of balance how is that going to be simulated? There just are too many unknown variables that need to be accounted for before they can do it. They could produce a really cheesy cheap one like some games out but for a good one I don't ever see it. They need to make it like NCAA 2006, where you start trying to win a national championship, then you can become a coach or continue your career on the olympic scale? Just my $.02 take it for what it's worth.

how many WWF matches are as complex as a true wrestling match? They take turns throwing each other and only one move at a time, very few counters, and not nearly the flurry types. It's possible but the controls would almost make your arms too tired after a match... almost wouldn't be fun to play. Would be worth a shot though.

If they did make one, here's what I'd want:

1. Exhibitions (1 Match Only)
2. Duals (You wrestle 1 match out of 10 or all 10)
3. Tournaments (You enter as a wrestler, drawn into a bracket or seeded on your record of your user profile.)
4. Season (You are a wrestler just wrestle a season)
5. Chase For The NCAA's (You start as a high school recruit, name age body etc. choose best position, top bottom or neutral, your style defensive, attack, etc. then you wrestle 4 years, possibly redshirting one year, trying to win a national title. At the end you can either retire and become a coach or you "Go On to Olympic Glory")
6. Dynasty (You are the coach, you do the scheduling, recruiting, you can then watch the matches, actually showing the match as it goes on, watch the duals, schedule practice so you decide what drills how much conditioning, then you go to your regional qualifier, hope for the best and do what you can...)
7. You decide on your coaching staff, you can keep your former wrestlers to help coach or you can hire your old buddies from college it's up to you
8. You design your singlets if you want/uniforms/mats etc.
9. Fully customizable guys from body type to style
10. Include all levels DI-NAIA, start with empty rosters... just have the coaches names and go from there, unless they want to have 320 teams?
11. Have mini drills, where you can have takedown practice, riding etc....

just a few wishes of mine if the game were to be released

Alex

BTW- This is my lucky 1600 post

does anyone actually think a game like would sell? would EA sports be willing to take it on? Would it be worth trying to pitch to EA Sports? Let me know I'd be willing to try. What can I add/do different to get their attention?

I think in dynasty mode, you should have the choice to actually wrestle all the matches, or simulate them.

I have heard this thrown around before, I actually write for a review web site that does some video game reviews. What I have been told is that there is so many different moves and counters in wrestling, that they don't think that the game programmers could do it. You really wouldn't have anything any different than many of the Ultimate Fighter or Pro Wrestling games that exist now. That is too bad, it would be a great game, but something nice about knowing that wrestling is too complicated for gamers to duplicate all that would need duplicated.

My thought is if they can do Rugby for EA Sports, why not Wrestling? RPW might be a seller right away as a game.

I think RPW might be the perfect way to have the game formatted. Have all the Real Pro teams. That would be awesome.

New idea for this! I was doin some shoppin for my bro today when I saw the eye toy for PS2. This may be a good way to make the game, if the controller would be to simple for such a complex game. Just an idea though.

It would be awesome but lets face it the game wouldnt probably sell too many copies. I think the RPW approach and maybe add the olympics in it also would be the best way to sell it.
