The keller rogers match was pretty good. The score was 6-2. the arnold and edison match was good to, very close. I think the final score was 7-4.

I dont know how the scoring for the city league is? Can someone explain this to me. South had 9 placers followed by carroll with 8 and kmc with 8. South had 4 champions Carroll 3 and Kmc 3. How does Carroll win 211 to 181 with south having 1 more champ and placer. As well as kmc having the same number of placers as carroll. I know pins have something to do with it but i believe that if you have one school with more placers and champs they should win outright.

Couldn't help it, but Wichita Article:

Carroll holds off South for fifth straight CL title

http://www.kansas.com/mld/kansas/sports/high_school/13853154.htm

Carroll holds off Southfor fifth straight CL titleBY SCOTT SEELWichita Eagle correspondentThe City League wrestling tournament has become old hat for Bishop Carroll's David Loos.

In the past three years, Loos has won three individual City League titles, his Eagles have won three team titles and his coaches have been named the league's Coach of the Year three times.

Saturday's league tournament at Heights was no different.

Loos went undefeated, pinning South's Tatum Flores in 1:54 for the title in the 152-pound division. Carroll won its fifth consecutive team title, finishing 30 points ahead of South, and coach Jamie Finkeldei was named Coach of the Year for the second year in a row.

Loos, a senior, has never lost a City League tournament match.

"There's something about this gym with all the people in here, it's almost like they're right on top of you," Loos said. "It's almost better than state."

rest of article at link.

I thought Deshazer was very deserving of the outstanding wrestler award and not taking anything away from him he definetly prooves his abilities on the mat, but I thought Detmer had a chance. I wonder who besides Deshazer can beat Detmer if anybody. Theese are two great wrestlers.

Actually, we placed 11 athletes out of our 13 we took. Actually, a referee DQ our 140 pounder b/c he had a burn on his chest. He said it was a ring worm..(WHICH IT WAS NOT). He was eating a hot pocket and the cheese from the hot pocket dripped on his chest and burned him. The blister broke the day before.

Is that a first... Beaten by a Hot Pocket! Caution wrestlers.... do not eat hot pockets during season as it might cost you a chance to compete!

But back to the beginning... I too was lost on how the team score was so far apart as we scored a lot of bonus points through out the day! We actually pinned our way through the first round except for one match I believe! Oh well, it happens. Lets get ready for regionals!

Well according to somone else it wasn't a cross face it was a head lock but the kicker was you could tell the ref didn't see it happen but it was his judgement that he did!! After talking on phone today with three other qualified officials all three said noway. You don't dq a wrestler for biting if you didnt see it,unless the bite marks were in the middle of back. Its happened in the past where a wrestler bit hisself for the win. I don't blame the ref I just think it was poor judgement but hey its his call. Then some camera guy goes on the mat and shows the official camera shot, that official goes and shows another offical they both smile and go show a coach the shot. I didnt see the camera shot but i know it doesn't show deliberate biting. But hey lets head for regionals. Ohh thats right that kid cant go to regionals because of the dq. AND YOU WONDER WHY SCHOOLS HAVE A HARD TIME FEILDING FULL TEAMS!!

I saw that! I agree that it was not intentional! But it's hard to justify either way.

The biting thing is a terrible situation. A hard cross face across the mouth can and often times do leave both upper and bottom teeth marks. I have seen this happen; I have even challenged people to simulate the move on their own arm, across their own face. You don't have to put much pressure to leave teeth marks. I would hope that in a situation like this, that before a wrestler is DQ'd that someone sees the bite take place before making that call.

I beleive you missed the whole point. The ref never actually saw the bite!! If you start making that call, and I have found out that it is the refs opinion that matters, then you will find that there are a few desperado's that will bite for the cheap win. Besides I don't think you saw it either unless you were standing next to the matt where I was.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.

BITING YOURSELF TO WIN A MATCH?! Santiago had no reason to bite himself...the kid he was wrestling was an absolute fish. Not to mention, Stevie is from a school where he has been taught some RESPECT and CLASS.

Not only should that heights boy have been DQ'd, but he should not have been allowed to strut around for the rest of the tournament. The kid didn't have a chance, and biting Santiago on the wrist wasn't going to win it for him. I understand that the referee may not have seen the bite HAPPEN, but you could DEFINITELY see the marks, and if you remember correctly, santiago walked up to the ref and SHOWED HIM his wrist. Those bitemarks were DEEP and Santiago completely dominated the match. There was no reason for him to BITE HIMSELF, he was simply wrestling a dirty athlete and therefore I believe the ref made the correct call.

Stevie has been wrestling for a number of years. To accuse him of biting himself for a cheap win is just plain ridiculous.

wowowowowowowowwowWOW

theres no need for that. That kid from Heights i kno personally and is a great kid. Hard working and probolly one of the nicest kids ud meet. Dont singal him out. Hes a freat kid and by no means a "dirty wrestler". From what i reamber he was commin back in the match! he was down alot and got like 5 takedowns in the last 1 min and 30 seconds to cut it to like 5 with 30 seconds left wen it happened. He was wrestling tough, not giving up.

ALSO, Heights has an OUTSTANDING, UP AND COMIN program. Deshazer is a king coach in my book. There was a match there the same day where a kid from east had a hard cross face on a heights kid and the heights kid turned around and pretty much punched him. deshazer UNLOADED on his wrestler. THATS a classy coach. The wrestlers then appoligised and had a good match. Deshzer has ALOT of respect for his wrestlers and demostrates call in all the matches he coaches.

If i was you id delete that post.
