Yes that sometimes is your first contact with a coach. Some guys don't need to sell themselves, their ability and acheivments do it for them. But that questionaire is your first chance to let a coach know that you want to continue your wrestling career and your first chance to begin selling yourself. Some of the smaller schools don't get out of their own states or neighboring states much.

Keep in mind there are only so many coaches on the college ranks and so many kids on the High School level coming out each year. I am hearing of guys in Kansas that I never even knew about until I had to research...but have colleges from other states asking about.

Sell yourself, go to pre and postseason tournaments, and visit a campus or try a camp/clinic from the colleges you are looking at before your high school days are over, that way you can see if you mesh with the coaches well at that program...saving money by staying closer to home isn't always the best fit, even though it may be the cheapest!

Odds are being given on the top 5 posters, feel free to make comment or project predections on your own. Odds and projections are as follows.

Currently at 4575 The Swayz.
Odds: 2-1
History: Recently has been slacking off, he is the odds on favorite though because; he is after all in the lead. When he hits the spurts he is capable of watch out. One can learn from past history on this poster, that the likely 5,000th post will be informative, and well worth the read.

Currently at 4096 RichardDSalyer
Odds: 3-1
History: Recently he has been moving away from what he is commonly known as, the King of Cut and Paste with actually making comment on some of the threads. Salyer is a sleeper and while staying hidden most of the time he is a formable foe when it comes to making posts.

Currently at 2995 Mike Furches
Odds 8-1
History, can get on a tangent, and while he may not have the most posts, he may likely have the most words with the longest winded posts. He is an outsider looking in though.

Currently at 2088 Bronco Wrestler, (AKA Alex Ryan)
Odds 267,138-1
History: Once a forum regular this poster hasn't been seen in some time. It is feared that this former regular is long gone, but there remains some hope.

Currently at 1683 usawks1
Odds: 958-1
History: Randy Hinderliter may not be in the lead, he may not be the first to reach The Mat King status, but he is definitely one of the favorite posters. Most every post is worth the read and to the point. While he may be number 5 in the rankings he has attributes that each of the top 5 could learn from.

Who will win the coveted title The Mat King? Stay tuned, watch out, and let's get it on!

From Stillwater, Oklahoma and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame "Honors Weekend" ceremony.

There is some exciting news from the Hall of Fame as they will be embarking on a fund raising event for improvements to the Hall to include major constuction and renovation.

The Pennsylvania State Chapter of the Hall of Fame made the first donation in the amount of $10,000.00. Much more to be done however this is the first step towards a new home to honor Wrestlings Finest.

3 - 1 initial odds pay out pretty good, as at track time they had gone up to 15-1, looks like very few took this long shot as having a chance. I as well as I am sure many others are curious as to how he did it, maybe he will let us in on the secret. Until then, here is the recognition for the 5,000th post. As long as it took to get to this milestone, I hope I am around when we reach the big 10,000 milestone and see who is in the running for that one.

Man, did Richard want that one or what? Turning 6 posts into over 200 is a good trick. I would have thought that he would want to win it fair and square. A hollow victory had the first laugh. Everybody else gets the last.

WHERE IS EASY SWEAZY??? He's been sitting at -2 and holding for quite some time now! Did he become a casulty of Wanita or just waiting in the brush to make his last fews posts memorable to be the first to REALLY hit the 5000 mark?

Got a call from the Swaz himself today about 3pm. He told me his reasons for "laying low" and asked me not to elaborate on here.

All I can say is this, the big boy is doing just what I expected, he's waiting for the right time and the right reasons to post and his 5000th will be memorable!!!

It is official, you can be the bearer of the good news and post that I have been named the new head assistant wrestling coach as Neosho that would be fine.

SO LET ME BE THE FIRST ONE TO CONGRADULATE HIM ON GETTING THE JOB!!!
(He told me that he's been staying off the forums, as he was looking into HS jobs and he was worried about anything negative coming from this forum and the posting of stuff. So he's laid off and didn't find much he liked. Got a college gig instead and will do very well, in my opinion!!!)

That is great news! His passion for the sport and his nationwide connections will be an asset for Neosho. Way to go Coach Swayz!
