Beau Bennett and Trey Page also wrestled at the Sr Classic..
If I remember right it was a 6 point match or so..
In the same tourney Serna did beat Page..
Not bad for having 1 days notice..
This makes a triangle of I beat you and he beat me btw all 3..
Personally: 3. L Serna 4. T Page 5. B Bennett
They all have beat eachother. No one can agrue with mine with any validity, nor can I with yours..
I have seen them all wrestle and that is my judgement!

I am working on the final AC rankings. Those triangles will probably not change things too much. Many of the kids state matches were at different weights which will not effect the rankings either.

Any new information is appreciated!

No he did not. Quite incredible performance if i do say so myself. And i know this must further confuse the all-class rankings process...

1. BJ Finney - 12 - AN - 4A
2. Tank Burns - 12 - COL - 4A
3t. Trey Page - 12 - WNW - 6A
3t. Beau Bennett - 12 - PT - 5A
3t. Lorenzo Serna - 12 - EMP - 5A

6. Dillon Salmans - 11 - HOX - 321A
7. Cody Huffman - 12 - DOU - 321A
8. Jared Rice - 12 - PHI - 321A
9. Luke Henning - 11 - AUG - 4A
10. Jay Cotter - 12 - GDL - 321A

Since they all have beaten each other then why not have a three way tie? This is one conclusion. Although, I do think Trey should be ranked higher because of his performance at Senior Nationals. And since Beau Bennett won state and beat Serna that could give him the nod over Serna. Thats another way of looking at it.

Exactly my thoughts Q. Personally I have Trey, Beau and Serna. I hope to have the final rankings out later today or tomorrow.

I am pretty close to finishing the rankings but am stuck on a few weights...

119!

Feel free to chime in on the Watters/Beasley/Smith dilemma! I might start a new thread with that subject.

Just curious how Xavier Fisher was ranked ahead of Tylor Woodruff when Woodruff beat Fisher at 6a state.

Curious how Luke Henning from Augusta isn't on the HWT listing after placing 2nd at 4A State (Realize he would have been 3rd had Burns been on the other side)& beating #7 Huffman 2 of the 3 times they met this season. Luke was 36-5 this season. 1 Loss to Huffman, the others were Finney & Burns.

Another thing I cant add is that Beau had recently lost to Ryan Kincaid by Fall in the 3rd.

I had beat Kincaid 5-1.

I can understand what your saying about Trey, he had a great performance at Senior Nationals, but as for Beau, I firmly believe I should be ranked above him. We are all good wrestlers and have proved to be all season. I am just adding some additional info.

And I would like to say I'm not a cocky kid, nor am I trying to sound like I am, sorry if that is what you are getting from this.

I understand and know that you are a great kid. The head to head at state means more than commons. I just can't rank you ahead of Beau.

Arrrrgh, I can't take it anymore.

Just when I about get the whole Goddard/Clay Center thing out of my mind Chief you post your "FINAL 2009-10 ALL-CLASS RANKINGS" and it all came back. Simultaneously, Goddard goes and wins the HS division of Kids State with 5 champions and places like 8 at Brute while Clay Center is pretty much stagnant and I say NO, Goddard is #1. I still try to resist the urge. I say let it go, don't take anything away from Clay Center's great year and 4A championship but NO, if I do that, that takes away from Goddard's great year and 6A championship. When we went through this earlier, you basically suggest that the 4A champion is better than the 6A champion and really that's about your only criteria, Clay Center won the mighty 4A State Championship and once again, I say NO. You say Goddard couldn't have won the 4A Title and I say NO, dang it, they could have and would have if everything went according to plan. They could have at least been CO #1s, but you say NO, there can be only one #1 and I am cool with that but that #1 is Goddard. I exercise restraint though and let it go again.

Meanwhile the forum goes cold. Between Public vs Private, aka see Cokeley sweat/Contrarian vs Cokeley and Beeson vs Lucas aka old timer fun time, there is nothing. I mean Public vs Private is interesting but not entertaining, Beeson vs Lucas is entertaining but not really interesting. Quite frankly, it is kind of boring. I feel that it is my duty to spice things up a little, stir the pot if you will. Hopefully provide something that is both interesting and entertaining.

So here it is. Here is how Goddard would have won the 4A State Title and been proclaimed #1.
Goddard scored 149 and a half points in 6A and Clay Center scored 129 points in 4A. I know the points spread differently in 4A so the task at hand is to show that Goddard could have scored 129 and a half points in 4A, exactly 20 points less than they did in 6A. They would have and here is a weight by weight analysis of how that would have happened.

103 - Bonilla (1st in 6A) - pretty much cut and dry here, scores minus 4 losing to Shoemaker in the final.
112 - Martinez - you said that you gave the edge to Kolterman yet Martinez beat Kolterman at the Brawl. Kolterman only lost to Dean who was 5th by 2 so Martinez could have picked up 5 or more here but I will give him plus 3 just to be conservative.
119 - Lemon (5th in 6A) - definitely loses none here as he beat Henely who was 5th in 4A. Backed that up by placing ahead of him at the Classic which he won. Additionally Davis who was 2nd in 4A beat Gulley 8-7 at HS state whereas Lemon beat him 13-3 at Kids State in the finals so I could give Lemon points here but I won't to be conservative and I am biased here right Chief.
125 - no one, no factor.
130 - Belle (5th in 6A) - probably could have placed in 4A but I have no data to support that. Would have at least placed top 8 though so I give him minus 5 to be conservative.
135 - no one, no factor, unless you let me use Selves as I am confident that he would have placed in 4A as he beat Hansen who was 3rd in 4A at Basehor. So if I factor Selves, that is plus 10 minimum, but I won't just to be conservative.
140 - Houlden (1st in 6A) - think he could win 4A too but have no data to support that. Also who could argue with Anderson. But I see no reason to believe that he couldn't get 2nd so he goes minus 4.
145 - Elliott (4th in 6A) - didn't lose to McGoldrick, 5th in 4A, but placed behind him at Derby so he would have placed 6th losing to McGoldrick so he goes minus 4.
152 - no one, no factor.
160 - Lee - pretty much cut and dry here, no points in 6A, no points in 4A.
171 - Spencer - pretty much cut and dry.....no change.
189 - Beard (1st in 6A) - lost to Walker, 1st in 4A, barely while Anderson, 2nd in 4A, lost to Walker 14-4. I have to give Beard at least 2nd here in 4A so he goes minus 4.
215 - Hicks (2nd in 6A) - Hicks gets no less in 4A since he beat 4A 2nd Hopper. But 4A champ Wuthnow only beat Goddard HVY Woodruff 8-4 and based on that, Hicks could beat Wuthnow which would give him plus 4 but again to be conservative I won't, so no change.
285 - Woodruff (4th in 6A) - if he gets the good side of the bracket like Henning did he gets 2nd in 4A and goes plus 5. If not, he gets 4th to Burns with no change and once again that is conservative.

So there you have it, a clear victory for Goddard in 4A as they go minus 18 to produce 131 and a half points and that is as conservative as I (or you or anyone else) could possible go. With Selves in, they score 10 more minumum to go 141 and a half. With Selves in and Hicks as champ they score 4 more and go 145 and a half. I realize that Clay Center's point total might have been "conservative" as well, but again, as conservative as I could be, they win 131 and a half to 129.

Now it's your turn or anyone elses.

****Below is my post on this subject when you brought it up last time. Why would you say that I just chose CC because 4A was tougher? I will add that to the list though, thanks.****

You are way off in so many places, I will try to respond. Interesting that an ex Goddard coach with a son on the team would claim bias on someone that has no affiliation to either team and has been charged by some to favor the big class. That comment was not even a nice try.

As I stated, this is not a dual. CC would be without Chapman, Canizzo and Converse. GD is without Kimple and Mitchell. I gave GD Selves.

103: Correct
112: Kolterman has a slight edge over Martinez in my opinion. He also has a win over Prescott and fared better at state in a tougher bracket. (Alex Wolf took 6th at 37-4).
119/125: This comparison would be Logan's team points vs. Lincoln's. Edge Singular.
130: Not a push. Kolterman placed 4th and lost twice to a 40-1, Schmidtberger, 5-2 and 4-2. Belle got majored twice, albeit to two tough kids in Locke and McComb.
135: No evidence that either has an advantage.
140: Tre had a great year and state tournament. Little wrestled Anderson pretty close but Anderson destroyed Hood once and beat him 11-5 at state. I have no evidence that Tre can beat Hood. This match would not be that close in my opinion.
145: Yarrow's injury made this one a bit tougher. He bumped up in the dual with Chanute early on and lost 8-7 to Sam Son at 152. The only common that I saw was him pinning Price(LV) who Elliott teched. In the end 4A/145 was MUCH tougher with Cokeley, Morgan, Weller, Collins, McGoldrick and Hayes having a combined 220-32 record! Yarrow lost 6-5 to McGoldrick at state. McGoldrick beat Sterling Terry soundly at Derby before Terry beat Elliott for 3rd. Also at 4A state, Yarrow pinned Horsch who lost 5-2 to Elliott at Derby. All said... slight edge to Yarrow, not Elliott as you stated.
160: Correct
171: You need to clarify that nobody beats Spencer big. Madl pinned him in the 1st and a 6-5 Shockley pinned him in 2:30 at state. In my opinion, Davis does the same.
189: In my opinion, your biggest misstep. Anderson went 37-2 and destroyed most everyone in his way. Beard finished strong, no doubt. However... Beards bracket was unusually weak in comparison to 189/4A. A 40-2 Grimes got hurt in his loss to Anderson. Tyler Gjerstad did not place. I have other commons that would bury your prediction at this weight. In my opinion, Anderson wins this match 10 out of 10.
215: Your Caylor common doesn't mean much. You know Caylor as well as I do. I am a big Josh Hicks fan and was really glad to see him get the Knudson monkey off his back. I would give Hicks the slight edge in this one if he is at his best, which I assumed he would be.
285: Correct

That delivers a Clay Center victory.

X,

Brackets of 16 at regionals may have kept some of your 6A, 8 man bracket qualifiers at home. 4A is a marathon while 6A is a sprint. This could have made an even bigger difference. I know that you feel the quality, based on earlier posts, of the 6A depth is greater and we will always disagree on this, but you still have to win four matches to get first, not three and at least three to qualify instead of just two.

What the heck was that response Chief?

Ok Chief, first I am sorry that I said the reason that you picked Clay Center was because they were in 4A. I know that is not the case. That was really a poke at everyone that is constantly talking about 4A being like sliced bread and a bag of chips and everyone else is beneath them like if you did not win the 4A state title, the "real" state title, than you are not legit, and I am really tired of that crap.

I do not understand why you simply resubmitted what you did from last time. Surely you can do better than that. Did you not even read my weight by weight analysis? Does that mean that you are incapable of contradicting what I submitted this time so you just resubmitted something from last time. Seems kind of weak to me, certainly not much effort there. It is almost like when you were a little kid and one kid says "you're stupid" to one and the other one can't think of anything else to say so he just says, "no you're stupid". When you submitted it the first time, it made some sense based on the direction of the discussion at the time, but to submit it now makes none. All it shows is that you kind of said "ok maybe Goddard would beat Clay Center in a dual but not in a big tournament". You basically challenged me to put Goddard in the 4A state tournament and see how they would have faired and that is exactly what I did. I gave a very accurate detailed analysis of Goddard in the 4A state tournament that shows that they would have scored enough points to beat the points that Clay Center scored. I clearly showed how Goddard could have and maybe would have won the 4A state tournament. Was that not the task? I say that Goddard would have won the 4A state tournament, and the reason that I say would have instead of could have is because I was very very very conservative with the 131 points scored that I gave them that would have beat Clay Center's 129. And if Goddard were in 4A and won the 4A state tournament, would they not have been #1 on your list?

If you (or anyone else) can contradict any of the weight analyses that I gave, then do it. If not, then I suggest that you simply man up and admit that maybe you were wrong.

And also, what the heck did you mean when you said you would "add it to the list though"? Are you saying "ok, now that you mention it, I will add that to the list of reasons why I chose Clay Center"?
