I'm just curious. At Southern Plains, only four places are awarded. In other regions, they award six to eight places. Why isn't there consistency between regions?

I would say the size of the bracket determines places.

It doesn't appear that the size of the bracket is determining the number of placers. Northern Plains finished yesterday and a bracket that was the same size as Southern Plains bracket awarded six places at the Northern while Southern Plains only awarded 4. I think we are short changing our kids that would like to make the top 20 in the US Future Olympian rankings by not awarding the same number of places as other regions. By not awarding 5th and 6th place, a wrestler would have lost the oppotunity to earn 85 or 100 points per style (possibly as many as 200 points). I just think consistency between regions needs to be considered. We need to give all Kansas wrestlers the opportunity like wrestlers in other regions the opportunity to earn points for 5th and 6th.
