"Will the young men that wrestle for WSU benefit from this fund?"

Not at this time. Not until the university and the state system makes a stronger committment.

KSU, KU, Pittsburg State, Emporia, Washburn, the other junior colleges, and other 4 year schools college/univeristy schools in Kansas etc., are also not eligible at this time - because of the lack of committment by the adminstration and athletic departments.

Just think on the buy out of coaches contracts recently announced, plus other past coaches - I think it is around $5-10 million at KU alone. We could run wrestling programs in Kansas for along time - with that kind of money for a couple of individuals.

ONW - Thank you on behalf of the KCWF Committee

We have increased our JAN 21, 2012 ONW Tournament of Champions, entry fee, from $15 to NOW $16.

We are joining other clubs in supporting the Kansas College Wrestling Fund by donating the extra $1 per entry to KCWF.

OUR UPDATED FLYER on USAW-KS calendar, and trackwrestling, will BOTH be updated shortly.

I apologize for this change. Thanks for the support ~Mark

A recent request was made to the KSHSAA to set up a KCWF information/donation booth at the high school state tournaments. We were denied because of a policy that allows only one vendor with an "exclusive merchandising agreement".

Below is the response:

Mr. McCarthy:
Thank you for checking with the KSHSAA in advance. There are two key points for you to know:
1. KSHSAA does not permit vendors or exhibitors at its post season events
2. The KSHSAA has an exclusive merchandise agreement with a contracting company to vend KSHSAA state championship shirts etc. NO other organization may sell or give away items of any type.
In accordance with the above, your request to set up booths at any and all KSHSAA state wrestling tournament sites cannot be approved.

In Nebraska there is a wrestling series for kids clubs and all the tournaments are held at the colleges. The college wrestlers ref and run tables. The college then gets 50% of the profit and 50% goes to a fund a believe. Something to think about as a fundraiser.

Loc: anytown, usa it's a shame, but that's the society we live in.

if they let the KCWF in, they would have to let any and everyone else in or be guilty of discrimination.

some "not so" repectable organizations might take advantage of this

sad isn't it.

Loc: Shawnee Kansas With the Kansas wrestling communties support - I do believe that this policy need to be reviewed and changed in the future. I think all sports: volleyball, baseball, track, football, basketball, soccer, gymnastics, etc., all of the KSHSAA sports and clubs would want this policy reviewed and changed etc.,
To have only one company receive the "exclusive merchandising agreement" acrossed all KSHSAA events needs to be changed. Baseball families can help baseball, wrestling families can help
wrestling, softball families can help softball, and on and on.

Thank you on behalf of the KCWF Committee, Coaches, School Admininstrators, and the student athletes.

We will be cutting a check to the KCWF for $921 this week. We had 921 wrestlers at St. James Academy this weekend and we collected an additional $250 donation from the Lawrence Elite Club. Awesome weekend for the KCWF!!!
