For Immediate Release – KC Metro Classic Wrestling


The 22nd annual Metro Classic Wrestling Dual is set for March 11, 6:30 p.m., at the Kansas City Kansas Community College Field House. This meet is a head on head collision between the best high school wrestlers from the Kansas and Missouri side of the greater Metro area.

The 2014 edition will match 16 state champions and 22 state finalists. The 145 pound match between Tagen Lambotte from Rossville, Ks., and Grant Leeth of Kearney, Mo. will, by itself, represent seven state championships. Lambotte is a four timer and Leeth a three timer. Daniel Lewis of Blue Springs at 152 is another four timer and Dustin Williams of Gardner at 170 has won three championships. The combined records of all participants is 1209 wins and only 93 losses this year alone.



The Metro Classic provides a venue for some of the top athletes in the Midwest and will be attended by more than 40 college coaches and annually draws crowds in excess of 2,000 fans. Proceeds from the meet provide scholarships for wrestlers attending Central Missouri State University and Fort Hays State University in Kansas.
