Wow, what an action packed weekend spent at Oklahoma City University for the 2014 Girls Folkstyle Nationals. While most of our state was at our State Tournament, 38 Kansas Girls competed for their shot at becoming a USAW Folkstyle National Champion!

For those that don't know, this is the premiere Folkstyle event for our female wrestlers to test their year of hard work against the best in the nation. It consists of High School aged on down for Folkstyle while wrestling alongside the top University Girls competing in Freestyle. Last year consisted of several Pan-Am Team wrestle offs. The number of competitiors, number of states represented and the depth of competition continues to grow.

A HUGE thanks to all the coaches that stepped up and coached throughout the weekend. Also, thank you to all the parents that brought kids down. Your sacrifices are appreciated for the advancement of our girls!

I hope you will agree this is quite an accomplishment these young ladies achieved and represented their State proudly. In talking with many of them, they know they can do better and already have their sights set on improving their results next time. I'm looking forward to seeing each one take steps higher up on the podium!
