No. 15 FHSU set for four-match weekend at Midwest Duals

No. 15 Fort Hays State heads for Kearney, Neb. this Saturday (Jan. 17) for the Midwest Duals. The Tigers are set to wrestle four duals in the all-day event, beginning at 9 a.m., with No. 11 Western State. Other teams on the Tigers' agenda are New Mexico Highlands, Chadron State and California Baptist.

The Midwest Duals feature 26 teams from NCAA Division II, NAIA and NJCAA and is a 16-mat event at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds in Kearney, Neb. It is also the final dual tournament of the year for FHSU. The Tigers dual with Western State will likely feature six nationally ranked wrestlers, including a 174 matchup between No. 8 Josh Rodriguez (FHSU) and No. 2 Elliot Copeland (WS) and a 184 matchup with No. 8 Jon Inman and No. 5 Kyle Piatt. Piatt defeated Inman earlier this season at the UNK Open, 5-3, in the championship bout.

Tickets can be bought at the door of the Fairgrounds (3807 Avenue N) and cost $10 for adults and $7 for seniors/youths. Live stats for the event are ran through www.trackwrestling.com
