Just got back from the UCO intrasquad dual #1, next week there will be another one on the UCO campus as well:

125: Sophomore Chris Saferite(augusta) struggled a bit only scoring an escape in the 2nd but managed to ride out Junior transfer John Koehler who wrestled for Labette the last couple of years.

Saferite wins 2-0


At 149 Senior Mickey Henry was tested by true freshman Eric Johnson(norton)....Henry looking to score found out it wasn't that easy until barely shaking off Johnson and catching him just right to score an edge of the mat takedown to make it 2-0 but just as quick as the takedown was registered and back to the center, Johnson was out making it 2-1....

in the 2nd Henry took down and escaped and the 2 had some good flurries but nothing else...3-1Henry...

finally in the 3rd Johnson escaped and started hammering away at Henry...Henry gets dinged with a stall warning with 34 seconds left...the scramble to the edge, with Johnson trying to get around the head and score...Out of bounds with 1 second left, back to center low single and time runs out...Johnson falls to Henry 3-2.

The final Kansas guy to wrestle on the night was Shawn Silvis (augusta) at 165 against Davis Puryear a true freshman from Harrah,Oklahoma was a state champion for then 4a Harrah...well Silvis from the old school 4a of Kansas put a hurting for lack of words on the college rookie, destroying the Okie 15-0 tech fall with riding time to make it 16-0 Tech Fall which came right at the beginning of the 3rd period....

Kansas guys looked well...Josh Bain (Ark City) wasn't there at the event by what I saw...All matches were run 2-2-2 as well.
