Bo Maynes (4X state champion from Salina South) is in a tough battle for the varsity spot at Oklahoma University. The following is from OU\'s website :

Quote:
The Sooners have two of the best wrestlers in the country at 125 in senior Matt Ridings (21-3) and junior Bo Maynes (18-3). Ridings, OU's regular starter, stormed out of the gate, winning his first 20 matches, climbing to a number two ranking and participating in the NWCA All-Star Classic.

Meanwhile, Maynes took over an injured Ridings after the classic and is currently riding an eight-match win streak. Maynes has defeated ranked opponents in three of his last four matches including a victory against No. 6 Jason Powell of Nebraska.
The projected lineup, as OU prepares to host Oklahoma State, shows both Bo and Matt as possible starters. This is the only weight in which more than one potential starter is listed.

It's unfortunate that only one of these teammates will be able to compete in the NCAA's next month. I'm rooting for that one to be Bo.
