I was wondering if there is a limit of matches a 6 & under wrestler should wrestle in one tournament(one day). If I am not explaining myself clear enough, then just ask me addition questions. I am all new to this..THANKS

The rules do not put a limit on the total number of matches per day. Although we follow the high school rules, which do have a limit per day, we also have modifications to some of those rules. Here is the applicable modification:
Quote:
SECTION III: TOURNAMENT OPERATIONS
PART A – SANCTIONED FOLKSTYLE TOURNAMENTS
Rule 1-2-2

There is no limit to the number of matches per day per wrestler.

A summary of all of the rules modifications and a complete list of all of the Kansas Kids rules can be found by going to the Rules link at the left.

When it comes to kids I would suggest something maybe a little different, when a kid is starting to get to the point that they are so tired they can't do all they need to to prevent injury on the mat, it is too much, of course there is always a way to correct that, more conditioning. I have found that anything more than about 5 matches a day in serious comp, tends to have a kid get to the place of running into potential harm due to the number of matches, or as I believe, length of time spent at a tournament.

My son was never tired or anything but I was just wandering if there was a limit because I heard there was one in high school but did not know about the kids. My son wrestled at a tournament not to long ago and wrestled 6 times within 2 1/2 hours. To me that just seemed a short time to wrestle so much, but on the other hand, he did not get bored waiting for his time to wrestle.
